This video doesn't do justice to how intense, rivalry and enjoyable this season was. Every fan's anxiety and blood pressure was at the highest point it will ever be. 😂
And then Spa happened and FIA tried everything to have an artificial equal points finale, to get suspense back in the season. Without FIA intervention Verstappen would've been WDC 3 races earlier.
Formula 1 works based on points. If you win a race, you get 25pts, 2nd gets 18pts, 3rd 15pts, 4th 12pts.. In 2021, Hamilton and Verstappen went into the last race tied at 369.5 each. Never before this has happened in 75 years of this sports history. Verstappen ended up overtaking Hamilton in the LAST lap of the race, winning his first championship beating out a 7 time F1 world champ Hamilton.
Max Verstappen vs Lewis Hamilton in the 2021 season was the most crazy and furious battle ever seen in 72 years of history in this sport battling it out every race with each other
Arguably one of the best years was 2010. Five drivers could have won the title in the last race. Don't forget about 2012 where 7 different drivers won the first 7 races. 2021 was good, but if you followed old races in the heat of the day, you'd be saying the same. Not that I was able to follow the V8 era at all, but regardless, my point still stands.
@@kyrie6910 I know the beginning of the 2010s where good but Hamilton the all time great vs Verstappen soon to be one of the greats is in my opinion the best championship battle ever every race was an exciting race in 2010 and 2012 not every race was as exciting as last year
For the winner takes all question: there's 20ish races (23 this year) each race is a Grand Prix and first place get 25 points then 18,15,12... and it gets less points each place. So the reason it was winner take all for this race is it came down to who ever won that last race would have the most points in the championship tournament(all the grand prixs put together) so it was the battle between the two best and either Hamilton was going to break records and win an 8th world championship or Verstappen was going to win his first world championship
AND Hamilton was a bit behind on points and HAD to win 4 races in a row to catch up to Verstappen. Which is exactly what he did! 🤯 Which meant that at the last race they had exactly the same points! The intensity for the last 5 races just kept ramping up! It was insane!
Formula One is sick at the moment. The best time to be into it in 10 years. Competitive. Hamilton the old guard could do it again if he gets the right car, but Verstappen and a gang of other young drivers are coming through. The are all in on social media and content now too, so plenty to react to.
Hamilton and Mercedes have almost no shot of catching Max, unless he DNF's like three times. He's 80 points clear of Leclerc in second place. Max will likely dominate F1 for the next 3-4 years until Ferrari learns how to strategize and put their drivers in a position to win races
there is a season with 20+ races. The first 10 drivers get points. The winner gets 25, 2nd 18, 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1. The points add up over the season and the driver with the most points is worldchampion.
Max's shunt at silverstone and Lewis' brake magic in Baku will forever in my memory... 2021 was one of the most intense, emotional, anxiety riddled season as a fan... in my 30 years i've never experienced anything like it. Its a great time to be a F1 fan
As a Lewis fan, Silverstone and Brazil were the standout drives. There was a moment in the season around the Austrian and Styrian GP were I thought Max was going to be untouchable.
@@mbeec1 Lewis drove brilliantly in both occasions, but I can’t forgive what he did in copse. I don’t mean it was intentional but he understeered into Max, which, from a driver that is one of the best to ever drive an f1 car, is a mistake which I can’t overlook.
@@mbeec1 In that car, common, 10 sec is nothing. The ten seconds only proved his 'mistake'. Yet a move like that, in such a high speed corner, in that point of the season, kinda sus
The killers respect killers thing is kind of spot on. The rivalry is so intense and in 20/30 years time they’ll be nothing like it still and we will look back.
The people in the booth (engineers) are giving them live data, strategies, updates, etc. for data they'll tell the driver the gap between the driver in front or behind or if the car has a problem, strategy: they'll tell him when they need to pitstop and change tires very strategically, updates like weather or where their rival is etc.
Tell the drivers to adjust settings like suspension stiffness, or %of KERS to use and where, or switching off certain sensors that have failed. So whilst the driver is accelerating to top speed on the straights, they are adjusting on board computer settings, so the breaking and balance of car is different for the next bend and lap!
there are 20 drivers, and at the start of season no one knows who has the best car. In 2021 it was Red Bull and Mercedes the were tops...and the 2 drivers that emerged as title contenders were Hamilton and Verstapen. And in 2022, the Mercs are not good enough...and the fight is now between Ferrari (Charles Leclerc /Carlos Sainz) vs Red Bull (Verstapen/Perez)
Go Max go. I will never forgeth that season. I am watching f1 since 1994. Last season was fire. Sunday will be the grand price of France on F1. Will be great.
At some point the youngsters will come in and take over. As amazing as lewis has always been, this is that point. He fought like a beast. (Also every race is 300km at least + 1 lap, laps depend on that)
Glad to see new people getting into this beautiful sport. Been watching it for passed 15 years and that is one exclusive pack of best 20 drivers in the whole world. In order to drive in F1 you need something that is called a super license. You can go and drive NASCAR or Indy car but F1 is in a different league. 1.8 seconds to change 4 tires and release a car from the jack. Stuff like that. One car is worth about 24 milion clamps. 2021 championship was one of the most intense season I’ve ever had a privilege to watch. Definitely worth giving a chance.
21-23 races per year with points awarded 1st to tenth. Most points end of the season wins a drivers title or a constructors title (for the teams). Fastest lap in a race scores a point as well.
Lewis the goat and Max is an up and coming freight train. Crazy battles and it finished with controversy, so it turned out to be one the greatest title fights ever.
Verstappen is no where near a up and comer he's been a F1 driver for 7 years. He's proved how good he is in his first race for red bull and won the Spanish GP.
The rivalry did start out with respect between the two but all gloves came off after the big crash in Silverstone (where you see Ham with the British flag).
This 21's season was so good. A bit bitter in the last race.... but we don't talk about it. It was a deserved tittle for Max, and an astonishingly powerful performance from Lewis.
Lewis Hamilton had equaled the previous record of 7 World Championships, and was fighting to break that record. Max Verstappen was fighting for his first. Before the final race, they were equal in points. The final race would decide who became F1 World Champion, which is crazy in itself. Most championships are decided several races before the last. Lewis was ahead for pretty much the entire race, then 3 laps before the finish there was a crash which meant a pace car (safety car) was sent out. Lewis being in the lead couldn't risk a pitstop because that would mean giving up his position. Max did pit and went for fresh soft tires. The second to last lap it became clear that the safety car was going to come in and there would be one last race lap left. Lewis in 1st on old rubber, and Max in 2nd on fresh softs directly behind him. The championship would be decided in the very last lap of the very last race. In turn 6 Verstappen overtook Hamilton and became the race leader. Hamilton launched a counter attack but was on the outside line. Max held the inside and won the race and the championship.
man it was insane watching this all unfold...it started off repsectful, but as it became clear that those two were the only real contenders for the title the rivalry between the drivers and teams gradually got more and more intense, even somewhat nasty at times. Y'all should try watching some races, there's new cars this year that are able to race closer together than last year, and the racing has been phenomenal as a result
You said you guys were NBA fans so the best way I could put it is Hamilton= Jordan, Max = Kobe. Just like how when Kobe came into the league, he was good, but Mike was still a bit better, and how as Mike grew older Kobe started to take over. Putting it as "Killers respect Killers" is a great way to think about it.
@@therealestniggah0075 Bill Russell has the record for most rings and by alot but is he the GOAT? Im far from disresprecting Lewis, Id say hes LeBron of F1. Because of the stats, some younger generation fans like to say that hes the GOAT, but hes just isnt.
F1's system of "points" are something like; the higher the position the more points you get. most points win the championship. there are 2 types of championships. the drivers (the ones who race on track) and the constructors (the team that makes the cars example-Ferrari, Mercedes, RedBull etc). the points scoring system - only 10 out of 20 drivers will be able to get points in a race weekend. higher race finish = more points. ( 1st - 25 / 2nd - 18 / 3rd - 15 / 4th -12 / 5th - 10 / 6th - 8 / 7th - 6 / 8th - 4 / 9th - 2 / 10th - 1 ) if two of the same teams' drivers finish in points it adds up to the drivers scoring system and the constructors. for example if 2 drivers from the same team got 6pts and 8pts the total points their constructors get are 14. but for the drivers it just adds up to their scoring system (most pts gets championship. There are a lot more to what I can add such as Practice, Qualifying and how the race weekends work but that'd be to long for what I already explained. You can just ask me any questions and I'd love to answer them. Loved the video!
It said winner takes all because they had the exact same amount of points going into the last race. So the one that finished first would become world champion basically.
The last race was just insane all the way through. They wrere at equal points in the championship, they exchanged 1st position all race long. It was in fact head to head until the last few corners.
It is a rivalry because they are by far the 2 best drivers in the field by far. I think in Max’s first few years Hamilton was not a fan of max because of his aggressive driving style that some people seen at the time as unsportsmanlike, they said max was a reckless driver. I think over time Lewis has gained respect for Max because Max is the only driver in the past 10 years to actually challenge Lewis and have the same commitment and dedication to winning that Lewis has. Watching them race each other would be like if Kobe and Jordan’s careers overlapped. A lot of people see Lewis as the greatest racer of all time but Verstappen is here to take over.
I disagree and honestly the likes of Ferrari vs Merc (i.e Vettel vs Hamilton), Hamilton vs Rosberg. Those days where the 2nd driver wasn't a rear gunner like Valteri, like Alex, like Pierre, like Riccardo and would activly go out and challenge to show they were just as good. Rosberg and Hamilton vs Kimi and Seb were astounding years of racing
Sorry, I disagree with what you have said quite a lot. Lewis has said the driver he respects most that he has raced against is 4 time world champion Seb Vettel. The rivalry between Nico Rosberg and Lewis was stronger in my view and even more dramatic because they were in the same team. Nico has admitted that he put so much effort into winning he couldn't do any more which is why he retired. They were friends throughout their junior careers but now they can barely be civil. But by far the biggest rivalry will be between Lewis and Fernando Alsono whether they were team mates or not. Lewis doesn't respect Max because in his early years he made dangerous moves, which resulted in fans online dubbing him crashtappen. Lewis would just give him a wide berth and didn't need to race hard against him because he was so dominant. And many other drivers have said the same about Max so it isn't a personal rivalry. 2021 was different because Lewis changed up his style (which he has done a few times over his career) and started to drive as aggressively as Max. It didn't end well. Max talks about enjoying racing against Charles because he knows that Charles isn't anywhere near as aggressive, and makes the occasional mistake. But without a shadow of a doubt the most ruthless and commitment driver to winning is Fernando Alonso. By miles. And has been since he started. Max isn't quite at Fernando's skill level yet, but it doesn't matter because Fernando doesn't have the car.
Lewis said his favorite rivalry was with Seb and Seb recently (last week?) said his favorite was Lewis. I think Lewis v Max was literally just dirty from Silverstone until Abu Dhabi. Before Silverstone they probably had some respect for one another but it went away after that. Maybe for Max during the race because of the crash and for Lewis after the race when RB started spewing their hate campaign against him. I also think Monza was a turning point for Lewis’ feelings towards Max.
Dude. No. It was TENSE AS FUCK! Last year was the BEST SEASON in DECADES!! It was unpredictable, fucking crazy, but after Max’s crash in Silverstone, it was ugly and hostile. The teams hated each other, fans were heated (a lot STILL are), but 2021 was the best season of all time. I’ve never cried like that before. When Max won I fell to my knees and cried and I was like, “What is this feeling I’m feeling?” I’ve never before been so emotional for a fucking sport but after 22 races from March - December, you get so emotionally invested. Unless you’re a Lewis fan, then maybe you’ll be mad after the last lap of the last race. But Lewis made a lot of mistakes that year, he deserved to win that race but Max truly deserved to win that season. You guys should learn as much as possible. The history of the sport. The history of the teams. Drivers careers a little. Max was interesting since he signed at 16, raced at 17, and didn’t even have a drivers license yet but start with Max at age 8. It’s very interesting. The technological side. How the cars evolved, and safety. The politics Silly Season drama Sport Controversies Classic races, classic seasons Predictions and Analysis when you’re not watching races.. Shiet, there’s SO MUCH to learn and love about this sport. I’m technically a new fan I started pre-season testing of ‘21, and I got Sebastian Vettel F1 Encyclopedia Knowledge. I turned nocturnal to watch the races live for fucks sake.
This particular season had 23 races (it can vary year by year a bit as tracks run out their contract or new tracks get added). The top 10 finished get points in a race, with 25 points going to the winner, 18 to second place, 15 to third etc. Another point gets awarded to the racer with the fastest lap each race. At the end of the season the driver with the most points is crowned the champion.
This season was epic for a few reason; Hamilton was trying for his record breaking 8th title while Verstappen was aiming for his 1st. Verstappen for a few seasons already had been the only driver capable of keeping up with the Mercedes' despite their dominance and this season for the first time had a car that could truly match them. Throughout the season they were going head to head, exchanging wins and swapping spells of good form. Throughout the season there were moments of controversy to both drivers as they collided with the other. Even post-race or off the track there were instances that were regarded disrespectful, such as Hamilton celebrating his win at Silverstone rather flamboyantly when he punted Verstappen into the hospital that same race. But most importantly of all, after 22 races both drivers were on exactly the same amount of points, meaning the final race of the season was a winner-takes-all scenario. And given the intense drama and controversy, this was the craziest scenario possible for such a season.
To give a bit of context to why max slowed down so much at 9:28, it’s because he was supposed to give a place back to lewis, because he gained an unfair advantage due to leaving the track. The part where they were driving is a very long straight, it’s the perfect part to give lewis his place back. Apparently lewis’s team didn’t give lewis this information, although they knew because teams can listen to other teams’ radio’s, and information like that get’s directly provided. So lewis had no idea max was going to slow down, and max though that lewis was going to overtake him so he kept slowing down, and that’s why they collided there
Welcome to the F1 family my guys its nothing like it you get so invested wish you guys would've seen last year's battle between Lewis and max it was the biggest controversy in F1 history im a lewis fan and im still not over what i witnessed completely bending the rules for the sake of a Netflix show
The championship is awarded through points, by the 2nd last race the championship was tied in points meaning the race in Abu Dhabi was the defining race
Hamilton is a old gurad with multiple titles, while Max is a young hotshot contender to do the same. It was mostly a respected rivarly between them, but it's the fans of each driver that are toxic. Max won this title, and it was his first one, but he was a damned good driver since he started in F1 at 17 years of age.
If yall are liking through f1 videos, you should check out and make reactions to drive to survive on netflix. You'll learn so much from that series, about the sport and its drivers
F1 Seasons have different amounts of races every year, but in 2021 there was around 21. Every race drivers in the top 10 are given points, 1st gets 25 points, 2nd gets 18, 3rd gets 15. They add those up throughout the races and then whoever has the most at the end wins,
An Formule 1 Driver is able to win a season earlier during the season, which consists of about 20 races, if he gets so many points that no other driver can catch him. THAT particular race was the epic final, because the top drivers had equal points at the final race of the season. That's what made that last race such an epic one, it was literally winner takes all!
watch it in real life, its insane the feeling of speed and cutting to air is not something you see on TV, bought one time cheap tickets you can barely see the collur thats how fast
In this year, there were 22 races,Every race, the top 10 get points. 1-25points 2-18points 3-15 4-12 5-10 6-8 7-6 8-4 9-2 10-1 like this. Max Verstappen won 10 races out of this 22,and Lewis Hamilton won 8,them two won 18/22 races. Max didn't finished like 2 times. Before the last race, they were equaled on 369.5 points. So the "winner takes all" means that which of the two of them finishes ahead he gets the championship. And Max Verstappen won the race, got 26 points because of the -fastest lap(+1 point)And Lewis Hamilton got 18 points cuz he finished 2nd.
Races are ~300 kilometers each. Laps depend on race track length. So you can have races with 4x-8x laps. Rivalries can be crazy depending on drivers. You need to know that most seasons just 1 or 2 out of 10 teams are actually competitive enough to win the title. We've had a couple years in a row where either Red Bull or Mercedes or Ferrari were so much better than the rest that is was clear who would win. In the 2021 season Red Bull and Mercedes were in their own league and the battle between Hamilton and Verstappen literally went until the last lap of the last race!!! The closest and most exciting F1 season of my lifetime. I had not watched for years before it because it had been boring, but since 2021 the F1 is AMAZING again and most of that has to do with Verstappen being a "what is a brake pedal again?" type driver. Unfortunately the F1 is writing new rules in the name of "safety" against Verstappen. So far we've got 3 Lex Verstappens already and all made things more boring again. F1 is in seasons. 20+ races. If you place 1-10th you get points. The 1st gets 25 points, the 10th gets 1 point. Total points at the end of the season means you are world champion. Additionally the teams (aka constructors) get the same points, just for both their drivers added together. Those points get the teams A LOT of money awarded from the F1, so it's very important for smaller teams to at least get into the first 10 places in a couple of races.
One of the Best rivalry in the history of F1. Certainly at the same spot as Senna x Prost. Marx had alien races like the France one, and Lewis just showed why he is one of the best of all time like at Brazil, beginning the weekend in last position, and finishing at P1. Today, we just pray to see Lewis having a competitive car again to see this rematch. Two of the very best in history fighting for the championship again. This season was so intense, they arrived the last race with the same number of points, Lewis was being champion until one of the last laps, when a slow car crashed and changed everything with the Safety Car. You can be a Marx fan or a Lewis fan (like I am), but can't deny that both of them deserve a rematch, because, like Nikki Lauda would say: "they need each other to become even better"
Every race is a rivalry for the podium. Its about being number one. Its nice if a team can take two spots on the podium to help in the constructors championship. If a driver crashes his car during qualifying, its a good chance the mechanics can rebuild the car by the next day. There are times when drivers do not want to give up position during the race. Races can also be won and lost due to slow pit stops and poor strategy.
It all depends on points. When you win a race you get 25 points, 2nd place is 18 points and 3rd place is 15 points and everybody who finishes in the top 10 gets points. P 10 at the finish means 1 point.
They use a points system over the 23 races of the season. 25 to win, 18 for second, they where so even they where equal on points going in to the final race meaning the person that finished a head of them would win
The most intense sport in the world, These teams, some of them with immense heritage from the very beginning of the sport, go behind closed doors for months in the off season, then hit testing with cars that are so closely matched (mostly) they lap within thousandths of a second of each other. Races on every continent on some of the greatest tracks in the world, Multi Multi millions of investment and sponsorship make it an incredible spectacle. That`s before you start to understand the rivalries and pit lane dynamics that you just witnessed. Toto Wolff and Cristian Horner and their relevant teams, are absolutely just as passionate and committed as the drivers are on track, races can be decided on the pit wall or at the pit stop very easily. Testing starts this weekend with the season start on Mar 5th in Bahrain.
lewis was dominating the whole race. it wasnt very exciting. until the race director messed with his own rules on the last lap and cost himself his job
So, each race, the top 10 finishers are awarded Championship points, that count towards both the Drivers (WDC) and Constructors (WCC) Championship, 25 for first, then 18 for 2nd, 15 for 3rd, then 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1. There is also a point awarded to the person with the Fastest Lap in the Race. Last year was insane, in that both Hamilton and Verstappen ended up on level points going into the final Race of the Season. A lot of crazy stuff happened last season that probably shouldn't have, F1 lost it's long running Race Director (the person who oversees the Race and makes decisions in Penalties and Safety Cars and the like), Charlie Whiting (RIP). His replacement, Michael Massi, somehow had to keep a lid on this massive championship rivalry and started making some botched decisions that ended up in his firing after the crazy final Race. They're still having trouble finding a replacement and it's a point of contention this season with drivers not happy with the way it's being run. I guess it's always going to be difficult with 600 pages of Rules that are open to interpretation. Also, entirely new Car designs this year, so all the teams are trying to find the best way to design the car, last year was the end of that itteration of F1 Car, so all the Cars had converged to the same design points and were incredibly reliable and quick. This years reset has slowed the Cars down some in favour of being able to follow eachother more closely to create better racing action. There is a race this weekend, the French GP, maybe just dive in and watch it
Formula 1 works on a point system. The top 10 finishers of the race earn points for themselves in the Drivers Championship, and points for their team in the constructors championship. So the higher you finish the higher the points you score. Max and lewis were equal on points due to them wining or coming in the points in a similar manner, so it was a rare situation where they were equal in the last race, so In that instance it was winner takes all
the World championship works via points. when you win a race you get 25 points, 18 for second, 15 for third. they get lower and lower, if you come 10th place or less then you get pretty much 0 points. so the person with the most points at the end of the season wins the world championship.
While it's true that there is rivalry between Max and Lewis, their rivalry isn't even close to being legendary compares to Lewis' rivalry with his teammate Nico Rosberg who remains the only teammate to ever beaten Lewis Hamilton and became World Champion in 2016 with the same engine. If you're interested in their rivalry, there is a good video called Origins of The Silver War by FLoz. Other rivalries between teammates like Prost vs Senna, Vettel vs Webber are also very interesting. I also recommend you to watch some of the most brilliant drivers like Fernando Alonso who won the WDC in 2005 and 2006, Michael Schumacher who won the WDC in 1994-1995 and 2000-2004, Sebastian Vettel who won WDC in 2010-2013 (my personal favorite btw). The story of Brawn GP team winning in 2009 is also incredible and reminds me of Leicester winning Prem in 2015/2016. Anyway been enjoying all of your reactions, keep grinding mate. Your videos always make my day. Sorry if my comment is too long.
A season goes for +20 races with the top 10 getting points (plus one extra point for fastest lap). There are also 3 sprint races (25% of the actual race) with the top 8 getting points. The big situation was that in the final race Max and Lewis were one point apart in the standings, that's why the winner took all. The duell between the 2 was full of highlights, controversies (especially the final race). To understand the sport it would be the best to watch indiviual races and soak up as much as possible. Drive to Survive on Netflix could be helpful as well, even though it's more about storytelling.
That title decider was one of the most controversial races in motorsport history. The race director made a decision in order to finish the race with green flag (which means all clear, we're racing), but to do that he had to bend the rules a little bit. It is what it is, Max won, and I'm kinda glad he did. Lewis will not rest until he has a fair chance to win his record-breaking 8th title. If he won last year, he'd probably retire after the 2023 season, and I want to see Sir Lewis Hamilton going at it. To anyone familiar with F1, yes, I'm a Lewis fan.
The F1 car is quite tricky to get into reverse because it, for some cars, requires specific button presses or most cars have a tiny reverse paddle which can be difficult to find if you haven't had to engage it in a while (that's why it took quite a bit of time for Lewis to begin reversing). If you put the throttle on too hard during a reverse the torque can actually throw the gravel out and beach the car pretty instantly if not done correctly. F1 cars also have terrible turning circles compared to regular cars which is why Lewis drove into it trying to steer out.
This video does not do the season justice lads, sign up to F1 TV, I think its like $5 dollars for the month, they have every race from that season and you can watch them all in full.... But they also allow you watch every race from other previous seasons also..... Its well worth the fee if you're getting into F1 and want to see full on races
I know this video is 7 months old, but if you were confused about why Hamilton was all alone by the starting lights, its because everyone decided to change their tyres so they started from the pitlane. This was all after a red flag caused in lap 1 as you see right before this
You guys should do a reaction to the amount of G-Forces the drivers go through during a race. People scoff at motor racing when they call it a sport but when it comes to F! you legit have to be in peak shape to be able to handle all the Gs thrown at your body under braking, accelerating and turning at high speeds. A lot of these guys have massive necks due to the strain and training they have to go through. While you're at it, react to Legendary drivers like Michael Schumacher, Nikki Lauda and Senna whose ofter considered the GOAT.
The reason why it was winner takes all is Because there is a certain amount of races in a season and you get points depending on how how you finish in the races and going into this last race Verstappen and hamilton were level on points so whoever won that race would win the world championship

@@brainwasherM The only reason Lewis had a chance in that final race because Max was taken out of 2 races by a Mercedes

The last race was just insane all the way through. They wrere at equal points in the championship, they exchanged 1st position all race long. It was in fact head to head until the last few corners.
Nah the last race was totally Ham's, Although the cost cap was breached by Max's RB
@@mattyat-gaminghighlights lol since when was kimi anything but a rear gunner? Guy won like 1 fuckin race in his entire 2nd stint at ferrari
I also think Monza was a turning point for Lewis’ feelings towards Max.
they hot heated but both drivers respect each other at the end of the day
Dude.

You guys should look at the Netflix show “drive to survive” this is the best thing we f1 fan have before a new f1-season starts.

It’s a points system, you accumulate points through the season. Whoever has the most points by the end of the season wins.
You just score points each race person with the most points after all races wins. in this case they were equal on points in the last race.
It all depends on points. When you win a race you get 25 points, 2nd place is 18 points and 3rd place is 15 points and everybody who finishes in the top 10 gets points. P 10 at the finish means 1 point.
2021 was a great season

Max and lewis were equal on points due to them wining or coming in the points in a similar manner, so it was a rare situation where they were equal in the last race, so In that instance it was winner takes all
This was THE rivalry
You guys need to watch the last lap of the last race for 2021. This video didn’t show the drama
the World championship works via points. when you win a race you get 25 points, 18 for second, 15 for third. they get lower and lower, if you come 10th place or less then you get pretty much 0 points. so the person with the most points at the end of the season wins the world championship.
2021 was definitely a controversial season

If you gonna watch any season the 2021 season is the absolute vibe and nah it’s all beef that season
Its a new season every year and then its just who gets the most points in that year
The F1 car is quite tricky to get into reverse because it, for some cars, requires specific button presses or most cars have a tiny reverse paddle which can be difficult to find if you haven't had to engage it in a while (that's why it took quite a bit of time for Lewis to begin reversing). If you put the throttle on too hard during a reverse the torque can actually throw the gravel out and beach the car pretty instantly if not done correctly. F1 cars also have terrible turning circles compared to regular cars which is why Lewis drove into it trying to steer out.
This was the rivalry of all rivalry's...and Max won 😏
This season was not good for your heart and bloodpressure. It hasnt been like that for years, this season was something else.
