- Converting an old field into a food plot or something more usable for wildlife is a great addition to any property. Adam Keith of Land & Legacy is on his farm is SW Missouri on an old field to food plot conversion. He discusses his plans for the newly cleared area and some cost share opportunities that might be available to landowners trying to convert these old fields into usable wildlife habitat.

I’ve done a lot of different things to enhance land looking at this piece I would have done a bunch of hinge cuts turned into bedding especially for the fall when the leaves are gone no deer feels safe in open woods like you have around there in the daytime
That timber will change dramatically very soon. The timber around this plot was just purchased in December so we haven’t tackled the management of it yet
