That was a hell of a solo!! One of my favorites
Possibly the cleanest most technically well performed live version of Californication I've ever seen or heard. I miss John for the guitar Solo, and Josh has more in him than what he showed here. Still, very good.
Josh isn't a replacement. He's a new sound. I think their new sound is excellent.

For those who think the band lost its classic energy on stage check out rhcp live at la cigale 2011, it's an awesome gig. As for josh's solo i think it is really cool the way he makes the song it's own and i really like it. Go chilis!

Actually, Josh has been involved with the Peppers since 1997, when Bob Forrest introduced him to the guys (AK, Flea, Dave and Chad), and later, John, but he's a permanent member of the band since 2008.

This solo is baller, if anyone thinks he should play the original solo then they don't have a true respect for Alt. rock or music in general, jesus christ he's a DIFFERENT guitarist, he shouldn't have to play John's solo

Anthony's singing is better than ever
i dont think it as good as the original, but certainly one of the best live ones! he really likes his chords, instead of following john's twangy guitar style
I wonder if Josh has his guitar through the stage monitors really loud or how can he rock that hard with his guitar that quiet? so frustrating, I just wanna full on crank up his guitar! theres almost like a weakness on the right hand side of the stage. frustrating!

This is best I've heard RHCP in 8 years, and that was with John, so for all of you who say Josh is such a downgrade, watch some vids like Live Earth, this is way better

Sounds like a bit of the phaser for a bit, and he also uses two chorus pedals on his board (one of which is set to make the guitar sound out of tune) it sounds like that chorus pedal is on
In fact he has been in the band since a few years ago as a second guitar when frusciante still was in the band
