I love my kitchenaid. Mine is close to 40 years old…still work great. It is really sweet that your husband knew what you really wanted and got it for you. Some may think practical gifts are not special…but they can truly be. I got a Breville oven one year from my boyfriend….and I love it! I also love that movie! I just rewatched it on my flight to Amsterdam! I have Puerto Rican traditions that I follow for me. We also celebrate Christmas Eve and dinner is a big thing. We a few things we do: arroz con gandules, pasteles and pork roast. For dessert, tembleque, coconut milk based. And coquito to drink. It has become quite famous. It is also coconut based with rum. I will be making rice, and roast pork and tembleque. Also have some coquito. Love the look! Wishing you a fabulous holiday!

Oh your husband sounds like a very considerate person, a perfect friend- whic i find important at keast for us women. Hearing what the other person needs, wants, compromised with etc, and then presenting that/ the ideal scenario as a gift is a gift of its own! May we all be blessed with such people around us! Adding to say we are orthodox and xmas eve is NOT a big deal here! People go to church on Xmas morning, and then have soup and the first meat after the fasting season, and then late lunch with extended family! We have similar food as the sarma thingies- we call them koupépia in Cyprus but thats more like a general traditional food we make year-round. ❤

I did the same thing, but worse… I put my Christmas tree up 3 days before Halloween. 😳 To be fair, I’m having my 3rd baby and until this pregnancy I’ve never been pregnant over the holiday season so I think it was a bit of “nesting” this time around. But my husband and friends teased me relentlessly because I typically put the tree up begrudgingly and under the influence of lots of spiced wine. lol. Anyway, I love the makeup look! That eyeshadow palette has been calling to me since the first time you showed it to us. I want it so bad, but I’m on a self inflicted no buy. :/ it kind of scratches my itch to watch you apply it though. So that’s nice. 😅 and adding the liquid lurax on top as super pretty. Merry Christmas! In my culture we also celebrate Christmas eve, but definitely not vegetarian. We traditionally roast a whole pig outside. It takes all day. Nowadays we generally do a small pork shoulder if it’s just my husband and me. This year my kids are here and my daughter wants to make prime rib. I will let her and enjoy!
The best Xmas movie is Die Hard. Love, Actually is 2nd. Color me shocked that the fancy Lisa Eldridge refillable lipstick didn’t beat out the Hermes for your 1st place! Though if I had to pick a fave lipstick of the thousands I have, the first one that comes to mind is also an Hermes - Prunior.
Love Actually was my second choice. Die Hard is a classic that I will never understand 😂. No way! Don’t get me wrong the formula is amazing but that colour, that packaging…🥰🥰🥰. See! You’re on board too!!
My tomb honey lots o things coming me with in the afterlife....Pat palettes, Hermes lipsticks, Miele dishwasher, Kitchenaid, Jura coffee machine, let;s throw in the Dyson vacuum hubs bought as well. You see why we need a tomb....🤣.
Oh my goodness, the foods sound amazing! I had to look up Anoush Abour and luckily I guessed the spelling somewhat correctly and was able to find it. I love things like sarma/dolma and baklava. Just delicious. And things like panettone and german Christmas sweets like Lebkuchen, Dominosteine and Mozartkugeln! I'm not such a fan of traditional British sweets like Christmas pudding, Christmas cake or mince pies (not ground beef, its a sweet dried fruit and suet filling in pastry), they are very heavy.
Honestly all you need is the internet and a shop that sells the ingredients and you can celebrate Christmas across the globe. (And have an enthusiastic partner who wants to partake in the eating haha).
