Remember, he and a bunch of other youtubers started out in the beggining as Vloggers where you just talk to whoevers listening. And by being able to share what theyre going through, it makes them feel better or important or valued or any number of things. Most youtubers I've seen are like that.
He doesn't want to lose weight. He wants to continue eating because he readily admits he's addicted to food. The weight loss journey is only there for the views and the clicks. He has no emotional stake in it.
I tried telling him this in the nicest way possible on Twitter once a while back and he retweeted me complaining and trying to make it look like I was trying to make him do what I wanted lol. I simply told him it’s what we have ALL been telling him for years! He’s only hurting himself!

W0Y4K thats very true, I don’t think I have depression per say, but I do have sad feelings every now and again, which I think everyone has but I’d always go back to video games to try to deal with it. Turns out that makes it worse lol, starting playing some sports and working out and I feel much better. I will always love video games but people like Boogie should stop using them as a crutch.

I used to watch some of his videos from years back and I thought he was funny with the Francis vids and getting his perspective on games and listening to some of his life stories. I think once his ex wife divorced him that's when things startly slowly revealing itself. Hopefully he builds up the confidence and be a better version of himself.

I had someone tell me something recently that has helped me a lot. He told me that the actions of others are a reflection on them, not you. You can’t keep reliving what someone said or did that hurt you. I feel like Boogie struggles with that. He’s got to know his worth. He has to believe that he is not whatever someone else says and I think that’s hard for him and it will end up costing him more than he was willing to pay.
Its true. And I think what a lot of people fail to realise is he came from a seriously f**cked up childhood. Like, mentally and emotionally he was broken long before he ever made a video. You tube was the outlet that helped him kind of find his place, and start to address that, but you also can't just expect someone to forget all that stuff, it changes a person. And unfortunately, the trolls and the haters I think are hitting him in ways that he cant handle, because I dont think he was ever truly able to come to terms with his childhood traumas before that. If you really care about someone, you care about them for the good and the bad. Not everyone is a fan or a friend, they just might be someone trying to kill 5 minutes watching a stream, or someone whos so down themselves they want to tear someone else down. And he really needs some way to handle that without directly addressing every troll and hater out there.
This is the very reason I unfollowed him on twitter and UA-cam. It’s obnoxious, and I can’t stand it.
My resolution last year was to work out and get in shape. To push myself despite my health issues and chronic illnesses. Despite my pain and set backs I managed to lose 40 pounds and gain some in muscle. I am still NOT completely there health wise, but I want to get to the point where I can go back to school and get my degree. That is my ultimate resolution this year.
Basically you WILL have setbacks, but you're NOT supposed to focus on them. It hurt and I cried, but I kept pushing past them. I will be 30 this year and I am thinner and more in shape than I was back in high school. Focus on your positive changes to work through the setbacks. Don't focus on what you didn't do. Focus on what you DID.

I remember a vid way back that was just called something to the effect of "Mike Matei's a liar" or something, and it was just him ranting borderline incoherently for far too long. Popular video for views compared to his channel size at the time, but understandably it wasn't well received in any other way. Any time somebody leveled a criticism towards him he'd dodge it and respond with something like "Thank$$$$ for the view$$$$ FANBOY$$$$"
Decided from there I wouldn't be venturing towards his channel again. I certainly hope he's a lot more decent than he used to be though.
That aside, Boogies been a mess for a number of years as well. I think the guy that he is and the guy the internet wanted to believe he was have drastically clashed. He put too much of himself out there and the illusion withered away. People have a hard time looking at him and not seeing something of a hypocrite or a liar these days, and that really sucks, cause I feel he at least partly wants to be how he was viewed... but a bigger part (No pun intended) wants to be the other guy.

I've unfollowed Boogie from twitter because it just got to a point where he's spamming nonsense and feeding trolls. I don't even watch his videos on UA-cam anymore because you can see how self loathing they are that they're depressing. I started watching Boogie because of his Francis videos, granted with all the rules and changes he tried changing the character so he could monetize them which made the character not fun to watch anymore.
I think if he kept making Francis videos in the way that he used to, even if they got demonetized, his channel would still be growing or at least consistently successful. Francis was the hook that got people to his channel, but his vlogs is is what would keep people because of his intelligence, humanity and kindness.
But now all his videos are "I hate myself, I hate myself I hate myself" and are just depressing to watch and he won't get help so its just a downward spiral now

Ok I can only defend Boogie in this one instance with his weight loss. From the beginning of his journey with gastric bypass surgery, he says he wants to document the “Journey” through its up and downs. That right there was you showed with the video of him at his current weight, that’s him documenting himself, and also saying to himself that he needs to lose weight. I’d give him a pass on that one.
