Decades? Hundreds of years... It makes me laugh. I would love to have an app that removed the skin from the body, then without the skin. Challenge the user to tell the difference between races. Not just black and white, Asian, Hispanics, and any cultural groups, regularly, racially, and viciously attacked.
I think, unless you have expert medical knowledge. Any correctly defined races, would be a bit of a fluke.
In my opinion, becoming a better case for bullying or gang culture clashes, rather than solely racism.
Some people just like to intimidate other people for their own gain. Giving rewards from their gain to other people. Creates a select group. When they become a larger percentage of the area they live in. They justify their greed, by refusing certain liberties to those who are through no fault of their own. Now the minority.
Civilisation or national pride, does not mean that anyone has the right to bear arms against another. Just because they will take written word and mis qoute it. Or take it out of context. Assuring the proletariat, they are more knowledgeable than the lessons in whatever religious text the majority follow.
Although now the religion appears to be greed, covetousness, and a healthy disrespect of common decency.

I think there is a fine for wasting the police's time, however it has to be proven that you intentionally called in order to waste their time; not that you "simply" made a mistake. Because otherwise, you might have people actually seeing something suspicious, but refraining from calling to avoid a fine.
Samir I thought you could be fined for calling 911 when there isn’t an emergency.
Or how about cities use common sense when it comes to grilling in the park or children selling bottled water, these women are using these laws to harass others if these laws weren't there or the penalties were no more than $5 this would go a long way.

It is a $500. fine. My neighbor called the police because my cat was on the roof of her house, and it was upsetting her cats.
I don't own a cat. It was one of hers. $500. fine to her.

@Black Rod we do have laws for calling police or emts for no reason. Infact it can be a arrestable crime, not just a fine but jail time.
We had incidents like that at my marina just last year. Technically, you have to be a member or a guest to be on the property, but we have always allowed locals to come on the property to fish as long as they stay in designated areas. It was that way when I joined 20 years ago! But we have had a large influx of new members in the past couple of years, and most of the fishermen are black people - often because those fish are to feed themselves - its not a game to them, and we understand that. Last year, a black man and his son who have been fishing there as long as I have been there, had the cops called 6 times. After the first time, we put a notice in the newsletter, and a sign on the bath house (because everyone goes there, asking whoever was calling 911 to stop. After the second time, members of the board and the shore committee began telling people to stop. After the 3rd time, we changed the rule (which we did not want to do, because sometimes the people in the designated fishing areas were pricks, and we liked to have the option to tell them to fuck off) and it kept happening. Finally, an ex-cop member got a buddy on the force to tell him who the fuck was calling the cops on these people. Big surprise! A super Christy evangelical, Trump supporting couple who had just joined that year! Wouldn't you know it? We ALSO have a club rule against the display of religious or political signs or symbols on club property. And they had mounted a 4 ft wooden cross at the end of their dock! It was another of those rules we did not enforce unless someone went overboard with it - but rules are rules, and those pricks are gone!

Real story: I was house sitting for a friend near San Francisco a few June's ago. We're both engineers at the same company and since I had recently moved to California, hanging at his house for a couple weeks was much better than my Apartment. I mowed the lawn, walked the dog, and fed the fish. I also told another friend I'd take a look at her house while their family went camping that weekend. The day I was gone, the neighbors to the left of the first friends called the police to the house to report my suspicious prensence. Apparently a bunch of cops showed up to the house but I wasn't there. The neighbor on the right side came out and told the cops who I was since our kids all went to the same elementary school.
I knew nothing of this until i came back to the first house and while I was feeding the dog, my friend called in a panic and profusely apologized and asked if I was alright. I just thought it was kind of stupid and funny. After all, I was taking the dog out for regular walks and checking the mail every day. A day later Philando Castile was shot and killed by the police. It made me think it could have been me taken away from my kids and wife that day.

I live about 45 minutes away from SF. My husband was nearly killed by a police officer two years ago. He was going to the gym at a quarter to 6 am and a car ran a red light and t boned him. The car rolled three times and caught on fire. He managed to crawl out despite having a severe concussion.
Instead of rendering him aid, the first arriving officer decided my husband "fit the description" of some guy fleeing some scene the next town over. So the officer tackled my husband, put a gun to his head and cuffed him using all kinds of N words. His fellow officers pulled him off and reported him to their superior, but it didn't stop him from filing a hit and run charge on my husband when he was taken by ambulance.
We had to fight that charge for two years. The cop tried to say my husband tried to flee from him by crawling underneath our car. The car was completely totaled. It was flattened as it lost most of its tires, there was no under the car for my husband to roll under. The case was FINALLY dismissed when they found the bodycam footage that was conveniently missing throughout the multiple court dates.
There was even more to that story, but it's too long to get into. I'm glad that you were safe because it's true that you could have met the wrong cop that day and ended up getting killed and a bulk of the population would think your death is justified bc they side with cops and/or are racist AF.

When I was at a day camp in kindergarten my father pulled up in the swat teams armored, car checks me in, while wearing his swat uniform, then gets called on his radio and phone. Some lady called the police a suspicious black man with a gun.

Jim tried to tell us. But then again, this has been happening for generations. The camera on a phone has been a God send for Black people just to expose some of our experiences.
It happens to white people too. I have some nosy neighbors that have had police knocking on my door for no real reason. The camera on the phone does help, especially when getting pulled over on your car. Cops have a totally different attitude when they're being recorded. And they have code words to warn their fellow cops that they're being recorded without using those words, so they can try to be more photogenic. Stay safe. ✌

The funny thing about that charcoal grilling situation was that she complained about that group of people grilling with charcoal at that park and they had to end their picnic when the cops showed up. The next day the whole park was full of people of different race, ethnicity, age, religion and class all grilling with propane and charcoal grilling this and that and partying as if they were just rubbing it in that lady's face. Times like that make me proud to be an Oaklander.

Ther is suppose to be a law against making false reports to police, but I have as yet not seen any racist arrested and charged. There is lawsuit! Take everything they have and just watch how long it takes them to stop doing it! It's time. Use the law to your advantage for once.

I disagree. The the "brown person" is innocent, but the cops pull a gun -- but don't shoot -- the caller should be charged with attempted assault. If the "brown person" is innocent and is injured by the cops, the caller should be charged with assault and battery. If the "brown person" is innocent and is killed in the interaction with the police, the caller should be charged with manslaughter. Just being black is NOT a crime.
What if you honestly thought something was going on, but it turned out it wasn't? I called the cops once because late at night my neighbours had a fight and the wife starting crying and screaming for someone to call the police. Of course I called, but when the cops showed up, the couple claimed everything was fine. Should I have been fined, or had some kind of demerit, just because they changed their minds? Do you see how this cute little scheme will STOP people from calling the cops even if they think they have a really legitimate reason? Please THINK before you suggest such nonsense again.

Living in the UK I spent a while waiting for a postman by a post box after posting the wrong letter, and a neighbor called the police to report a suspicious black man hanging around by the post-box and initiated a (very brief) terror scare that had the town gossips talking for weeks.

The East Bay city is where Jennifer Schulte, known derisively on social media as “BBQ Becky,” called police on black locals for using a charcoal grill in a local park.
In neighboring San Francisco, just a few weeks later, Alison “Permit Patty” Ettel, called police on an eight-year-old black girl for selling bottled water without a permit.
“This is happening all over the country,”. “[Maple Heights] is a community that was majority white and has gone through one of those serious changes where many of the white people who are left here probably can’t leave. People are going to have to learn how to live together.”
This is true. The world is coming together more and more with mass communication and mass transit. This old tribal way of thinking doesn't work in today's society or the society of the future. We don't need to be separated by race or culture. It is possible to just accept people.

I'm not totally convinced this is about race every single time. It often seems to be a middle aged out of shape lady who wants to feel better about herself by enforcing rules. I've seen women like this try to enforce insignificant rules upon people of their own race.

That happened to, in my first visit to Amrica, I was coming from my daughter Doctor appointment, my tire flats and my interpreter went inside to ask the for help, the machine wasn't working, she called the cops on us. Not because of any thing , but because we were black.

Sad Story:
Forgot where, at a lake resort
A couple made reservations, few weeks early. When they got there, the owner (white elderly person) told the couple they needed reservations to be there. The couple showed paperwork, dating early reservations, and was already paid for by card. Then the owner pulled a gun on them, called the police and told them that the couple was threatening her life.
Police came, sorted it out and arrested the owner, due to false reporting.
Owner had multiple complaints about similar misinformation.
Guess what: All that because the couple was black/ brown.

In fairness, the vast majority of police are not racist when they are called by racists.
I'm just a regular dorky looking white dude with glasses, my last two encounters with police were for looking suspicious. The first was for sitting in my car at work during my break eating lunch and watching TV on my tablet. I'm pretty sure it was the two white teenage chicks who parked next to me for about 20 seconds then left, as I'd barely been out there 5 minutes before the cop pulled up (I'm really just assuming they were teenagers, our only interaction was me glancing over for about 2 seconds when they parked next to me). He saw me in uniform, eating, and immediately realized it was a waste of his time. He seemed a bit annoyed, and I don't blame him.
