    Richard is making biscuits with White Lily flour which is a SOFT strain of wheat found mostly in the South, while most wheat here in the USA is the HARD red winter wheat strain. The soft strain of wheat is known to produce much better biscuits. The brand is available on line for shipping. I love a good biscuit with some country ham on it. Best to all...

      Must be good in bread also . When i was a restaurant cook and baker, we got some snacks of Manitoba flour from Canada, it was made by some Italian expats ,and it was soft,took lot of water and oil .,but made the bread just rise higher and be softer than other ones .,

    • @phoenixrising4073
      @phoenixrising4073 5 днів тому

      @@MrPh30lots of traditional European flour is low gluten, which is the exact opposite of what we use here in the US. I started making my French bread with 50/50 all purpose flour and pastry flour. Julia Child used a mix of 1 part all purpose 2 parts pastry flour. Just made some bread with all bread flour yesterday and couldn't believe how hard it was to work with, but it does rise very nice. All depends on what you're trying to accomplish but I like the texture of low gluten flour for French bread.

    People that watch Gordon Ramsay on kitchen nightmares and wonder why he gets so pissed when a restaurant can’t clean its kitchen or serve edible food, look at this. These guys don’t have half the resources that some of those kitchens do, but they work hard and they appreciate the people they serve. That’s the difference. When you appreciate the people that you serve, you never want to disappoint them.

So one morning I went before work to check it out and OMG. Hands down one the best breakfasts I ever had. Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, fried potatoes, sausage and bacon. And every to go was stuffed to full capacity. I would go once or twice a week. I was in my early 20s so my body could handle it then. To this day, mom and pops spots are my favorite places to patron.

A certain famous person came to this earth to not be served but to serve. What caught my attention other than them good looking biscuits and ribs was when James Middleton stated how good neighbors Charline and Richard are, feeding and delivering groceries to his elderly Mom for the most part asking for nothing in return. We need more of that Love and caring in this world. We all can learn from that. Mother Martha you raised your children beautiful. God Bless you all.

    Such an awesome family!!! The ppl interviewed are so interesting & genuinely nice! There’s such a difference in ppl - the Appalachian ppl we saw today are SO genuine, friendly, hardworking & the very opposite of artificial!!,

    Used to work in a food distribution warehouse. On my Thursday night shift, we would get done with work on Friday morning and quite a few days, I would end up going on my brothers route and head home with him to stay at my grandparents for the weekend. I eventually got my own route and loved visiting the buisnesses and seeing how some of the places made their food. My aunt was married to an old Vietnam Vet and his mother ran a small restaurant for a few years and ate there a few times. You learned where to and where not to eat while delivering food and supplies.

    Pretty awesome. I remember back way over 30yrs ago my grandma had Back then Coble whole milk and was in a yellow gallon jug. I think that is pet brand milk but first time I saw a yellow gallon milk jug since then and we are in South Carolina not that far away. Really cool! Was supposed to help block as much light to keep it fresher longer I think was the idea.

    Love these little stores! I'm a Brit and used to visit friends in VA and GA. They would chat away to me assuming I was from the South too and you'd see a literal jaw drop when I would start speaking in my English accent. They'd be like; "What the???"😅 Richard without his glasses looks like Tim from our soap opera; "Coronation Street", by the way. Google. 😅 Loved this upload. Thank you!

    This reminds me of the country store /last supply market. In Otter Creek Florida. They have a small kitchen. But they make the best biscuits .Sausage, egg bacon, etc ...Whatever you want from scratch.. They offer other menu items. But definitely have the best biscuits. Thank you for highlighting and reviewing these American treasures!! Hopefully you can do a review on that place.
