That 2012 Ferrari was clearly the worst car of the 3 title contenders. It had reliability though. In terms of speed I think that McLaren had the edge that season. But let me quote, in order to finish first you first have to finish.
Coming back to hear all these iconic names is just such a throwback it's amazing to see this again. Cars almost the same speed, massive F1 names having their last race. It's amazing yet so emotional
In Abu Dhabi the track was completely clear and they could race. Here Di Resta crashes on the main straight and on the racing line, his car is still there when you see Hamilton cross the line at the end.
Alonso did great, he is surely better driver than Vettel but people severely hype Alonso here, he didn't have any reliability issues, thanks to Ferrari. On the other hand Vettel had too many reliability issues. People severely downplay Vettel, especially final race, damage, radio malfunction, pitstop mess he overcame all odds and became a champion. Ferrari didn't have the best car but still it's second fastest and faster than redbull on straights for atleast 3/5 of the season. Thanks to Ferrari too, it atleast provided a car with better reliability than redbull. But still it's great drive from Alonso but not the best.
2012 was the best F1 season I’ve ever seen (in 15 years watching at least). Alonso had the greatest possible driving with a goddamn bad car. Brazil 2012 was one of the most intense GP ever. At the end of the GP, I told myself « That’s why I watch F1 » and also « That’s why I won’t support any driver anymore ». Alonso loss was the most unfair and heartbreaking thing I lived with F1.
2012 was my favourite season ever. Williams, Sauber and Lotus right up there challenging for podiums and wins, Kimi’s return, Michael’s podium in Valencia, Alonso taking it to the final lap of the season in that dog of a Ferrari. Great memories
I really miss the sound of these engines. The naturally aspirated era was the best. The sound was intoxicating the speed was on another level. They didn't cry about every little problem.
Thats called ‘recensy bias’, people remember brazil 2019 better, because this was 7 years earlier, a lot of new fans never watched this race, but they did watch the 2018 and 2019 seasonsus voting those
Ahhhh the memories. I remember the whole thing like it was yesterday. Surely I ranked it as a race in my top 10 list of best races in my nearly 10 years of watching F1. Obrigado Interlagos
Che gara, se penso che l'ho vista quando avevo 16 anni e vedere le gare di adesso mi viene da piangere anche a quanto il tempo passi velocemente , 2012 miglior annata di sempre
I feel like the older f1 races are way much more intense than the ones that are goin on rn. Especially in 2021. 2022 max has some cheat codes, he’s winning almost every gp.
And people still say Vettel doesnt deserve the title in 2012, when he did wonderful race in Abu Dhabi and also in Brazil with damaged car. Aplause to the haters
And he lost 32 points to Alonso in Valencia due to some mechanical failure. So many people always just say how Alonso should have won it. And I agree that he drove brilliantly that year. He would have deserved a title, but Vettel also deserved it, the RB wasn't as dominant as in the other years and he made a superb comeback And 2010 is similar. They always say how incredible Alonso drove to come 5 points to winning the title. Well, without the car issues in Bahrain, Australia and Korea alone Vettel would have finished more than 80 points ahead
@@ParhamAz Red Bull also got many reliability issues. Sebastian got has many mechanical failure DNFs are Button and only 1 less than Hamilton, and 1 of Hamilton DNFs was deliberate due to being 1 lap down puncture, not McLaren The main difference is that Sebastian got 0 DNFs due to crashing that year.
I remember supporting Alonso and Ferrari and screaming with joy at 0:36 and 1:20 as things went Alonso’s way, and a rollercoaster of emotions with moments like 1:45 and 4:40 but massive respect to Vettel fighting back to take the title.

@@bobinskiplays1779 Petrov xd
Coming back to hear all these iconic names is just such a throwback it's amazing to see this again. Cars almost the same speed, massive F1 names having their last race. It's amazing yet so emotional
Horner:pronto? Di resta
Di resta:yes
Horner:s🅱️innala
You are a Gentleman with exquisite taste
So that's 2 times a red bull driver won after a driver crashes out near the end of the race
Just a reminder that France 2019 'highlights' were longer
There were Highlights ?
Just a reminder that France 2019 "highlights" were longer
There, now it's closer to the truth ;)
Why does it matter
There were no highlights in that race.
Alonso the real Goat of those years he made races fun to watch
Finishing a season under a safety car? Michael Masi would never!
That's because of an agreement.
@@varunpuligadda8360 Where did they agree to throw out the rulebook homie?
@@mercian9425 Looks like you dont know squat about the rulebook, homie
In Abu Dhabi the track was completely clear and they could race. Here Di Resta crashes on the main straight and on the racing line, his car is still there when you see Hamilton cross the line at the end.
@@jayb2705 Um that was Jenson who crossed the line not Lewis.
2012 season was really the best in F1
2012 best season ever
Alonso deserved a title with Ferrari...probably this one.
Thank you Romain
Vettel deserves one too
This was the season that cemented Alonso as an F1 legend. That car did not deserve to be anywhere near the title fight.
Sukuza 2012, more like. Binned it.
Alonso's 2012 run might just be the greatest non-championship individual effort in the history of F1

2017 Vettel? 2022 by Leclerc?

No wonder you typed this comment before 2022. Albon's Williams stint says otherwise buddy by so far
Alonso loss was the most unfair and heartbreaking thing I lived with F1.
that bad car finished 2nd in the championship. lol only 60 points behind red bull and that's because massa was bad in the first half of the season.
@@loukaspappas8476 Massa scored more points than Lewis Hamilton and Mark Webber in that goddamn bad car.
Had it not been for Grosjean messing up Alonso’s starts at Belgium and Japan, he would have had it… but that’s F1…
@@Kibouo Vettel´s Engine broke at Valencia, so that doesnt count at all?
@@zordiark9673 True, but I think Grosjean messed up Alonso’s race twice, at Spa and Suzuka
Here after the insane 2021 season
3:42 both are legend
5:38 you can see alonso's pain there
2012 was my favourite season ever. Williams, Sauber and Lotus right up there challenging for podiums and wins, Kimi’s return, Michael’s podium in Valencia, Alonso taking it to the final lap of the season in that dog of a Ferrari. Great memories
Fernando Alonso not winning that championship after driving his heart out in the slow F2012 is one of the cruelest ever outcomes in Formula 1.
One of the best race's of the last decade
I really miss the sound of these engines. The naturally aspirated era was the best. The sound was intoxicating the speed was on another level. They didn't cry about every little problem.
Alonso's glaring empty stare says it all!
Arguably the best F1 race of this century
Best race I’ve seen in my life
am i the only one who was kinda proud that Michael Schumacher was there when Sebastian won his 3rd championship?
Best race of the century fight me
4:40 awesome control
The 2012 season will be remembered as the best season in modern f1!
Well done Seb, to overcome that top after that rear collision and manage to overcome positions to be world champion in the last race.
watching this after his rstire, i want to cry
“Sebastian Vettel, you are the triple world champion, the triple world champion, you are the man!”
The best season I’ve watched ends with the best race I’ve ever seen. Will there ever be a year better than 2012?
Who came after Abu Dhabi 2021 too like me?)) Almost same finals, but di Resta crashed so late)))) I wanted to see fight between Alonso and Button))
Back in the day, when f1 was exciting.
Interlagos NEVER let us down.
As a brazilian fan, I can surely say it.
This was one of the finest drive of sebs carrier, miss the old seb
I think 50-60% of that Seb is back
These races were so much better. You can actually hear the excitement in Brundle's voice
Age is a factor tbh
The best race of all time
So F1 fans... Still gonna put this under Brasil 2019?
naw
Casual fans will...
I don't know
Yes.
Thats called ‘recensy bias’, people remember brazil 2019 better, because this was 7 years earlier, a lot of new fans never watched this race, but they did watch the 2018 and 2019 seasonsus voting those
5:38 it's 3 am and I'm crying a lot 😭😭
5:38 i can feel the pain
love those old races on new highlights format
Vettel 🇩🇪👌🤩
Please come back
This has been the 1st ever Grand Prix I watched back in the days.. What a great Flashback
No Kimi getting lost ?
Unforgettable race, remarkable era & a great guy with character, who'll be missed a lot from today on!🥺
All of these races are so chaotic and Button seems to win every single one of them. he just seems to appear in 1st on the final lap lol.
This is and will always be my favorite race
3:53 Nani? Kansei dorifto!
The best race, and end season season race for a long time ...
"Still a McLaren 1, 2." These rewind videos are the only place you'll hear that for a few more years.
Go even further back and you'll hear "still a Williams 1-2"
Ahhhh the memories. I remember the whole thing like it was yesterday. Surely I ranked it as a race in my top 10 list of best races in my nearly 10 years of watching F1. Obrigado Interlagos
Where's Kimi's interesting racing line?
Exactly
Still my favourite race of the last decade.
Brazil is always a top 3 eventful F1 race, hope they never remove it from the calendar.
i remember, i was there watching the race, and for me it was the best race and one of the bests time of my life.
These cars might've looked goofy but they sounded increable
I feel like the older f1 races are way much more intense than the ones that are goin on rn. Especially in 2021. 2022 max has some cheat codes, he’s winning almost every gp.
4:08 HEARTBRAKING...
wow are all the old races so intense? Nico! haha I was emotionally invested in his race, even tho I know...
Wait so the championship can be won behind a safety car. Who would have thought.
Those low grips, amazing 1v1s and absolute competition. Goosebumps.
He would have deserved a title, but Vettel also deserved it, the RB wasn't as dominant as in the other years and he made a superb comeback
And 2010 is similar. They always say how incredible Alonso drove to come 5 points to winning the title. Well, without the car issues in Bahrain, Australia and Korea alone Vettel would have finished more than 80 points ahead
@@nemoschmitz2374 In 2012, the McLaren was actually the fastest car.

Ahhh , sound of those engines !! Love it .
I remember supporting Alonso and Ferrari and screaming with joy at 0:36 and 1:20 as things went Alonso’s way, and a rollercoaster of emotions with moments like 1:45 and 4:40 but massive respect to Vettel fighting back to take the title.
