Shrooms microdosing helped me overcome my life long addiction to cigarettes and alcohol, I just relocated and they're so hard to come by here, I really need to buy some
'I am a mushroom geek...' Too funny! Bless you Aaron. I am a knitter...wool! I've not ever found a lobster. But I will continue to hunt! Such great useful info. On a separate note, you are such a nice guy. Kudos to those who raised you!!
You are helping me greatly. I have 155 acres in southeastern Ohio. I found foraging really fun. Plus all my family and friends have never tried all the items that I am bringing home.
Enjoy your commentary & walking along with you & your dog. Plan to purchase a field guide for Massachusetts. Walked with a group last Spring but a week early.
Thank you sir. My little girl and I also found a bunch of those velvet footed pax the other day, a bunch of lobsters. Also a giant Ganoderma Oregonese, which is the only thing we actually kept.
Thanks Aaron I'm starting to turn into a mushroom geek myself with your help, it's great I love it, I'm out every day hunting with my dogs, I just wish I'd been doing it sooner, gotta start sometime.
Great video. Always enjoy watching your stuff. I'm in Calaveras County CA and we just found out first chicken of the woods! Finally. Higher elevations make me jealous around here but we got some in out own neighborhood. Praying for rain tho!
I just found this channel coz i see many mushrooms in my local forrest and I dont know them well enough, so I dont touch them. But there sooo many an its been raining these days. I never thought tho that they could be used for dyeing, thats cool I'll look into it. We have those white fart mushrooms when u step on them, powder comes out. Maybe it would be good as pigment aswell. Also I heared that green muscaria is not good to touch or mix with good ones so take care.
The proximity to water must help with these chanterelles. I found a few in the Cascades in the spots where it rained a bit around 3 weeks ago, but they were very small and seemed to stop growing once everything got super dry again.
@@philfort2 even when I found a huge patch mid August there were quite a few that were old and spored out I'll have to start checking late July next year
I am in Virginia. We have lots of mushrooms. Good to hear the spores aren't bad to have in the same basket. I don't know why however I have a knack for finding amanita. Unfortunately the three one's I keep finding aren't edible
Never heard of anyone dyeing hair with them. The pigments are so light that and often takes an hour or more of boiling the fabric with the dye in order for it to take. I don't know how that could work with human hair. Maybe somebody has tried it? I've never heard of that. They're not bad for your skin unless you have sensitive skin or an allergic reaction.
I live in SW WA. Is there a mycological society near me? I'd love to go on some foraging adventures and learn some things and get in on the Fall mushroom hunt.
The Mycological Society of Oregon. They meet monthly at the World Forestry Center in Portland. Near the Oregon Zoo. They are a great bunch of mushroom geeks! I’m one of them!
@@your_eulogy2688 Count me in too! I live in SW Washington, and my girlfriend and I have had a terrible time finding anything so far. Any clues or advice would be greatly, greatly appreciated.
Do you ever meet up with your local subscribers to go on forages together or do they need to be a part of the club/ community to go out? Example would be someone who wants to learn and help you collect dye mushrooms for your friend's business?
This channel is not affiliated with the club and I really try to keep it that way. I do volunteer to go with forays with the club though, in which case I do not involve this channel. I have taken a few people out but honestly, during this season of my life, I am so busy with family and business I really don't have a chance right now. Not opposed to it though!
Been a dry summer here in the mid coast of Oregon but we got rain!!! Found 20+lbs of chiken where I have been getting chanys for three years!!! Never know!

Yes
He got trips ( DMT magic shrooms)
Thanks a lot I will get some now
Gonna be on the lookout for “shrumps” from now on 🤣 Thanks for the great vids!
You bet!
You especially want to watch for shrumps when hunting for Matsutake mushrooms--the unopened ones are the most desirable.

Haven't found lobsters where I live but,I did find 2 lions manes and a dozen Blewit's this weekend. Keep on foraging!✌️
That is awesome!

Excellent!
Love learning about dye-ing mushrooms. Thank for sharing your knowledge and wisdom! Looking forward to joining you on more future walks.

How about some videos on how to prepare and cook mushrooms you collect.
I’m obsessed with these videos ☺️
Thank you for all the information you share in these. I have a new found interest in mushrooms. My area is loaded with them. In my backyard.
Thanks Aaron I'm starting to turn into a mushroom geek myself with your help, it's great I love it, I'm out every day hunting with my dogs, I just wish I'd been doing it sooner, gotta start sometime.
Glad to have ya aboard!🤙🍄

@Mariana Hernandez thanx for info.
Do you get many hens where you are. I love comparing your mushrooms with the ones on the opposite side of the country where I live. So fascinating!
We don't! Wish we did!!

I really appreciate these videos, I'm heading to the PNW and my sis dyes wools so I guess I'm going lobster hunting! Thank you so much for sharing!
Was that a ring (jewelry) @ about the 7:00 position at 12:05 in the video? (I like to look at EVERYTHING in video closeups haha)
Haha I doubt it but maybe!
Wow I had no clue that mushrooms could be used for dye. Could be useful for humanity
i found tons of dyers' polypore last time i was out, guess i shoulda grabbed a couple
Any idea how long it takes for lobsters to flush again? Haven't had any new ones at my spot since mid August. We even got rain since then.
Tough to say, maybe a couple months I would look back!
Same... I found a few somewhat decent ones at the end of August - the few I've seen since then are very old

If they dye protein then it could be for human hair too. Just how good/bad are they for skin?

Not sure, I would google it. There are many!
I'd be down to show you the basics, lots of places to go around here if you're interested.

Supposed to rain Wednesday. I get so excited for the first fall rain, but then by late December it sucks.
After muh doggo eats a good bun h of grass to help an upset tummy he vomits that exact color green and it looks like foam.

Why not just buy dye?
You could also buy mushrooms I guess, but what fun is that?!🍄
