My mum got me a Vic20 for Christmas but I had to wait for my Birthday in April to get the data cassette. Until then all I could do was type in code from magazines to watch an owl appear or a stick man kick a ball 🤣
@@HumanoidMachines I.remember wanting a commodore64 or even vic20 but ended with a mattel aquarious… if you dont know what that one is look it up 😁 The thing is, I actually still have it packed away with various games and accessories.
@@HumanoidMachines Trouble was it was 70s tech really in the 80s 😁 Many games from that were on the Intellivison. (Also Mattel) I was a teenager in the 80s so used to buy c64 and cpc464 game mags at the time even though I never had one, was just dreaming of those superior systems with their awesome graphics 😊 But thanks to emulation we can now play systems and games we never heard of, had access to or couldnt afford 👍
I actually like the Hexa theme and the Hexa handheld theme versions. The handheld version is great on my Powkiddy RGB10 Max cause it hasnt got the game synopsis text so maxinizes screen space for images and video, it brings the video snap forward to fill the screen rather than in a little box. So great for small screen handhelds. Actually the Hexa handheld theme even looks good on PC, as long as you dont mind the no game synopsis thing. I also cuustomize the gameview setting coverflow style with large boxes, ypu can adjust coverflow size, very handy. Also dont forget you can add many other themes designed for Emulation Station, download them on PC and move them over via file manager. Only issue is most are made for the Pi so wont have the theme cfg tab setting like the ones you download within Batocera, obviously made with Batocera in mind. But you know, no matter what theme I try I always go back to the default carbon. I like it plus when you add more systems it always seems to have the system artwork needed. Many of the themes you download always seem to have a few systems missing ruining the look.
I really like the Browbows Heder with the carousel game menu. This is all on the fly and it’s the first time I’ve looked at many of these. Wish I’d have tried a few more game menu variations like detailed etc.I’m the same as you with going back to carbon, lol. My quick mess around did bring up a few flaws…. the missing content, I noticed some of it eventually kicking in and working fine. I guess it should all load in and work as it should if regularly used…. Maybe!
Batocera dont usually have release dates as to when the next stable version is released but as HM said you could always update to v35 beta builds. Ofcourse being beta versions they may be more prone to have issues.
@@lucapalombi9810 Naomi 2 and Mugen are already in v34. Tip, some Mugen games will work in the Windows folder rather than the Mugen folder Triforce I think is in v34 as well but I havent tried this myself yet so cant confirm

Is there a randomizer for the batocera themes?
I’m unsure, I don’t think so.

Batocera dont usually have release dates as to when the next stable version is released but as HM said you could always update to v35 beta builds. Ofcourse being beta versions they may be more prone to have issues.
