I shot my biggest buck ever this year at the even of November the same day my grandmother passed. Just went and sat in the stand to clear my head and shot him at last light. I shot my biggest buck the same year my best friend died of cancer in the most unlikely of circumstances. Like 10 degrees that morning and got out of the stand early because 1) I couldn't feel my feet, and 2) the coffee started hitting if you know what I mean. While finishing up the coffee doing its thing, he stepped out of the CRP at 25 yards following a doe and stood almost perfectly broadside. Amazing how those things happen.
Man that one part where you got deep about how hard your life is rn and this year really shows us the views and hunters that were not alone that us hunters go to the woods just to talk to god. I know I do it and now I know you do it and I’m well beyond positive others do it too. By far the best video I’ve seen yet on a hunting show. Congrats man keep it up for us. I needed this.

Lee I lost my mom years ago and she knew how much deer hunting meant to me. I found myself sitting in a stand one evening and I just started praying and talking to my mom. I asked if she was watching to send the deer I have been hunting as it would be one of my biggest. Not a few minutes passed and out he stepped. He stood like a statue posing as if my mom put him there. That was the only time I have ever prayed like that until this season. I was sitting in that exact stand with my daughter and that kid meant more to my mother than I think I did. We both talked to my mom and asked if she was watching to send out a buck for my daughter. Once again it happened. Some say it is coeincidence but this place I hunt isn’t a suburb and deer are pressured a lot and hard to come by. I Beleive with all I have that my mother and the lord all mighty played a hand in those 2 deer.

In those moments when we stop and pray I believe God is also trying to tell us something. He speaks and he answers us but we have to be still and quiet enough to hear him. Far too often we allow our self will run riot to get in the way of what “God wants for us” and in turn we replace that for what “we want for us.” When it happens and we realize it and we are able to recognize it it’s such a beautiful thing. And I swear watching it happen to someone else and witnessing them realize it and get the message is even more beautiful than when it happens for ourselves. Never forget that every storm runs out of rain!!

Had this 115-120 8 point (for my area of southern middle TN, that's pretty dog gone good) on camera last year starting on July 16th. I watched him on camera all year and hunted every second I had but never got an opportunity at him. Post season rolls around and hes in front of our house every evening with does just taunting me and I even watched him cross into our 3 acre bean field several times but it was out of season and he had a horrible limp. Velvet season this year comes and he's a ghost. Seen him once in front of our house and only twice in early velvet at the place I've been hunting him at thats 1000yds from our house. In late October my brother started having him on camera, but as my luck would have it, he's a clean 7 point, I mean a freakin TOAD. December 5th, I saw him chasing does in front of our house on my way home from school. The next day, December 6th, I saw him with 2 does, and they crossed the road into our 3 acre field and smoked him at 60yds with my rifle. He went 123 inches as a 7 point, and if he'd have had a matching G3, he'd have went 132 as a 8 point. Very rare for our area and I'm not the greatest bowhunter because I just can't shoot my bow worth a dern, although I'm very blessed to have taken him even though I shot him off a red rocking chair on the front porch, instead of my deer stand like I would've rather done. I shot my Boone and Crockett buck about 20 minutes from there. I won't blow up your spot, but had been curious as to what part of Ohio you were in, funny it's somewhere closer than I would have thought, lol. Good luck and keep the good content coming.
How do you not run lithiums in those cameras? I have 7 Tactacams and ended up building 12v lithium battery boxes using ammo boxes. They last about 3 months in early and off season. As soon as it gets cold they last only a couple weeks. You probably run 30+ cameras, what’s the best way you keep them active without having to push into your spots to maintain.

Ok, I see you climbing with a saddle. Did you hunt out of the stand with one on this hunt? From the vid, I didn’t see you wearing a typical treestand harness and I didnt see any lines/tethers.
I invested so much time into this year to pass up so many deer and get nothing I would probably do some pretty questionable things To be able to hunt with you for one day lol😅

Yes we were using our saddle harnesses as our safety harness in the tree. It’s a system I like. We are never not attached to the tree
