  • Phosphorus released into the environment causes the serious degradation of water quality from eutrophication. In this video, the issues surrounding phosphorus runoffs are discussed, and the biological phosphorus removal technique called Enhanced Biological Phosphorus Removal (EBPR) is explored. EPBR uses bacteria to store and remove phosphorus from wastewater by storing it in their cells. This is done by first holding them in an anaerobic environment and then transferring them to an aerobic environment where they can multiply quickly. EBPR is a great alternative to the chemical method of phosphorus removal and is nowadays widely used in many industries and municipalities.

The explanation for everything was quite clear except at the end when the disadvantages of the methods were described.
In writing it said that there was a higher concentration of Phosphorus, and verbally it said that there was a lower concentration compared to the chemical process, and it was mentioned that modern methods reached 93%.
Are the modern methods referring to the biological or the chemical process?

There are more than just those two methods for removal, but the best I would say is called " Biological Corrosion" because it can also help out with other treatment processes.

I wanted to determine the amount of phosphorus in a sewage treatment plant before we use a phosphorus recovery system. I have the concentration of phosphorus in the outflow and inlet of the water in the sewage treatment plant and still have the concentration of phosphorus in the excess sludge and digested sludge.
Could you give me some tips on how I can achieve a good destiny

Phosphorus is removed from treatment plants through wasting it out (the sludge). To get an idea on Phosphorus in your system all you need to know is the amount coming in and the amount leaving.
