    The stress on the turning base must be tremendous. I'm surprised there isn't a larger diameter race to turn on

    Its a nice crane but you guys have to stop with the rear wheel turn buttons and go to a steering mode selector switch like everyone else. Also I'm in the cab right now and the operator manual is super unhelpful I see there are multiple boom extension modes but nothing to tell me what the difference between them is. Also you should put the error codes in the book. But the app is helpful

    Grove is always talking out there rear-end about how they talk to ops. when they design new equipment..
    That's all a big lie..

    • @lmaolmao8826
      @lmaolmao8826 2 роки тому +1

      I believe that they talk to operators before designing the new cranes. I only believe this because they take all of the issues with older models and compound on them.

      I ran a big Tadono R.T. at Perdue before I retired.. After you get on to the L.M.I. , that was a joy to run, with a bunch of common sense safety - comfort features...

    This cab sucks. They’re not as wide, not as tall, so getting in and out is a chore. It said, improve AC, if you get rid of all the extra glass, the unit wouldn’t have to work as hard. I run these everyday. I’ve put about 6,000 hours on my grove RT 600E. It has single axis controls, lots of leg room, the top glass layout if far superior to the new models. What the video doesn’t show, is they redesigned the door because the old door was bull nosed and made entry and exit that much more difficult. There’s no flat spaces in this cab. No spot for a piece of fruit, a can of soda or a bottle of water. The video doesn’t show you how far a person has to reach to use their cup holder, what a joke. All that wasted space between the steering wheel and the windshield. There’s no room behind the seat. Where does the operator put their dinner bucket? Not inside the cab. I’m running a 540E right now with the dual axis controls, which suck by the way. My legs are right against the pods right now. It’s like operating a coffin. The foot pedals are all the same shape, so you’re guaranteed to have to search around with your foot to find the telescope pedal or the swing brake while looking up at the load. It’s just aggravating beyond belief. I suggest staying away from these models until they’re operator friendly or go buy a different brand.

      Grove has never been operator friendly. It’s nearly impossible to air out your sack, let alone adjust the fucking seat to a comfortable position. Their is an easy solution though: buy a link-belt.

    • @operatingengineer520
      @operatingengineer520 5 років тому +2

      Zoidlrrr, I agree, but I’m stuck running the equipment of the contractor work for. I just got done running an RTC 80160 link belt. That thing is a horse. But it has its flaws as well. I hate the way link belt has their steering wheel post. There’s so much wasted space in front of the steering wheel and the windshield. It’s stupid. No room behind the seat or anywhere else in that cab to keep your lunch box out of the weather. Mine stays on top of the steering wheel. A crane is designed to lift, so most of the time I’m looking out the top glass, so I can care less about “improved visibility” down low or out the door. I ran a new link belt RT75 with their new cab, it really sucks. It’s more narrow and less tall on the inside. No more thumper, just an annoying beep for winch operation. It just bad and grove is trying to copy link belts cab characteristics. I’m a big guy and these cabs are now being designed like cell phones back in the day, smaller, smaller, etc. I’d like to run a liebherr RT. Seen a video on one of those, looked bad ass. Check it out. Thanks for the reply!

      I agree totally. I even tried to call up there to tell someone that they need to improve their junk and you can even get a real person on the phone!! What a waste of American time and money.
      I Would BUY A LIEBHERR!!!

      Oh yea I forgot that the computer will throw codes at you all day everyday!!!
      So much so that there is an app for it. Which the code you have never is listed or isn’t compatible!!! Freaking joke

      @@operatingengineer520 the cab on the Liebherr is a lot nicer. If I have to run an RT, it's going to be a Tadano. The Liebherr RT is garbage too.

    junk. hydrostatic over electric. function delay of start and function continuation. fun when you stop hoisting and its still feeding the iron workers rope. Powered swing into powered automatic brake. 2 seconds before you can set a pick back down if it swings. dangerous beer can. Incapable of duty cycle speeds. Too much awfulness to list. GRT worst picker I ever had
