Great video! I don’t have a flower farm but I’m really wanting to have a small one in the future and this is a stream of income I hadn’t thought of. Thanks so much for the info!
THANK YOU! this is something I have been greatly struggling with. Pricing and the ideas are all top notch. 👌 It's 101°F with a heat index of 108 in north Louisiana today. Too HOT!
Seeing professionals identify fleabane as a pretty flower shows me my instinct was in the right direction. I transplanted the ones in my yard to my flower bed and I thought they were so pretty. Now that I’ve seen your video I know I’m not crazy. I’m going to transplant the rest. Thank you for the video!
This is such an excellent use of your land! Have you tested the Fleabane to see if it holds in a vase? It seems like it would be a great filler flower to add into bouquets.
I wonder if you could put some screened gazebos to your nooks, it might be another photo op! Or a water fountain, or you could put up a semipermanent tent, to have concerts and weddings! Outsource the catering if you need to, but you have a literal goldmine, just by providing the space.
Hi Guys! Hello from upper western NY. We want to plant a native boarder, we tried seed balms but nothing took;/ do you always have to till before you sow? The spot is down from our land next to a pond. Lovely views all around you.. thanks for sharring❤
We do till. The seeds will just get choked out by existing weeds if we don't. You could try solarization, before planting, if you're not wanting to disrupt the soil.
As your neighbor down in iowa city, I've noticed that my pollinators are in love with my basils and single flowered dahlias. They ignore my other pollinator friendly flowers. I know what I'm planting next year in my yard. Also I'm testing out different lavender types to see what's going to survive this coming winter. This is my first year in iowa. My Fondation landscape came with lava rock mulch which I hate. So I scooped it up and tilled it into the soil of my lavender rows.
Thank you for this one! The larkspur/bachelor's button/poppy mix was really striking! I would be especially interested to know how you prepped the field before sowing that area & also how many years old that planting was to be so established. We have a lower field that we have seeded in small areas with wild flower mix, but have not achieved that kind of result. Great Job.
I’m also interested in finding out more about soil prep. I’ve tried wild flower mixes before as well, but weeds took over and my patch turned out to be nothing but weed patch. You guys clearly have a great method as your installations are fabulous!
Adam, a cigarette butt can send me to the moon! Your fields of flowers are beautiful but the Lavender is amazing. Would you share what type of lavender it is please?
Adam has piqued my interest with his cosmos/sunflower patch. Did you direct seed the sunflowers as well as the cosmos? Which varieties did you sow? The reason I ask is because I attempted some common sunflowers with cosmos on a steep slope few weeks back along with zinnia. Even though we've had mid-90's for over a week, the cosmos are going strong. Zinnia is faring pretty well, but not seeing much from the sunflowers. I still have several packs of ProCut - some orange and gold for sure and could use these in a planting in another area I have ready to go with cosmos. I have gone with bipinnatus exclusively, but since this is late June, I wondered if I should go the fall color route with sulphureus. It's actually going to be a strip about 6-8 feet wide and 30-40 yards long on a property border. I'm in zone 7b and it will be a good while before we worry about frost, probably November.

We've tested and it doesn't hold 😢
@@PepperHarrow Good to know. Thank you!
As a kid I would pick fleabane for my mom and she would put them in a vase with water and they wilted immediately

I’m wanting to do this on my next property, which I’m currently searching for 👍
Hi!! Which lavender varieties do you use? Do you grow from seed?
I have a wildflower rock garden that I love

Mix cosmos with zinnia sed and distribute-happiness
How do you keep the deer from eating everything?
How much do you charge photographers?
How do you plant the sunflowers?
That larkspur mix is stunning! When do you “winter sow”? How much seed do you typically purchase when putting in a wildflower installation like this?
We sow before any snowfall in early winter. We always buy more seed than we need!
Wow! Y'all the farm fields look stunning! So very beautiful. God bless y'all
Thanks Catherine! 🌸💗
Wow 😲😲😲lucky. ! I planted 5 pounds. deer eat it 😥. But yours are more than beautiful . Love it

beautiful, do you guys sell bouquets at farmers markets? Or is your business geared more towards events/etc.
We do both ✨

Both are direct seeded. The sunflowers are black oil ✨
@@PepperHarrow your bird population will enjoy those and thank you for them.
Great info! What variety of lavender do you grow?
English lavender
Where do you get cosmo seeds in bulk?
Our local feed store orders them in for us.
This is so helpful and something I want to add. Do you share your FAQ? Thanks for always giving good practical information!🌻
You can find the FAQ on our website photographers page 👍
do you have to water any of these flowers or do they just grow independently?
what are the flowers at the 10:00 time?
