5/5 It was more like a fairytale than a traditional story and I enjoyed every moment. I am a pretty harsh critic in my old age but the author captured and kept me interested the entire time. Not an easy task to be sure. Thanks for posting this and my respects to the author.

oh - thank you Joseph - just realised you are one of the few enlightened authors who allow their work to be here on youtube (was just commenting on another series of audiobooks, also uploaded by the author - that another author told off people in the comment section for 'stealing' his content before ensuring all his audiobooks books were deleted from youtube) - ONLY reason I found his books in the first place was via an audiobook on youtube - now see - as I tried to explain to him at the time - this is great marketing - after finishing this I wanted MORE - sorrtof part of a series (- 6 more books - set BEFORE this - to explain some of the other bits, reference - awesome) - now checked youtube - not here - and unfortunately I can't afford to buy books anymore right now - so plan B = what I will do is check tomorrow (I need to find my library card first) check online if they already hold copies of these 6 books, if not, will do what done in past - request that the series be bought (now this may not be much - population of 1.6 million - maybe 6 copies of each (going by similar books/holdings) not that much in terms of sales 36 books - but brand awareness/new readers (if not already held by Auckland Libraries - currently the largest public-library network in the Southern Hemisphere with 56 branches (Auckland, New Zealand) (very responsive to the public they are - both in terms of purchasing on requests - and transferring between branch - why so few copies bought for such a large(ish) population) - still exposure... more series than that aren't there.....

I read the first 3 books of the Book of Deacon series on an e-reader before it decided to kick the bucket. Since then, I've focused more on audiobooks, and haven't read the the rest of the series. I'm glad I came across this audiobook. It reminded me about your books, so I'll make sure to read your others. It's been awhile, so I might have to go back and read the whole series.
this was just perfect - especially the ending, been a long time since i cried over a book - I especially like how it - twists - the traditional fairytale - I mean the description - "Stripped of her family and kept in a tall tower by a fierce dragon due to the scheming of a mysterious stranger, Jade seems to be living in a twisted fairy tale". . is all very true and accurate - however expectations are subverted in the best possible way - I was getting close to the end last night, hoping for more - in case you don't know (like me) - this is sortof part of a series - The Book of Deacon Books - 6 books - this is a "side quest" set after these other books (so I'm figuring I'd be even more emotional if I knew more background) - loved this = *THANK YOU* for uploading it - really appreciate it - loved the end, made me cry, very satisfying - I do wish she had fixed his wings though
Damn! Haven't laughed so much Since i read Lackey's 500 kingdoms. Compelling voice acting, a tale that has me in stiches with tears running down my eyes, I think I found a new fantasy author to like. Subscribed from the start (almost)

It's a book for kids and adults alike. I enjoyed it. Usually I prefer romance stories, but this was wholesome . Grumpy daddy dragon ... 🐉 ❤️
