Ten Sleep Tips from the Qur'an and the Sunnah:
    1. Sleep According to Need
    2. Sleep Early & Rise Early
    3. Make Wudu (Ablution) before you sleep and sleep on your right side
    4. Sleep in a Dark, Cool, & Quiet Environment
    5. Take After Naps, When Possible (20 min roughly, avoid going for an hour)
    6. Memorize Qur'an or Du'as Before Sleeping (Best way to retain is to learn something, sleep on it, learn it the next day, sleep on it and it becomes one with you)
    7. Avoid (or Reduce) Caffeine
    8. Don't Disrupt Your Circadian Clock (Sleep is physiologically dependent on the rising and setting of the sun; schedule your sleep around it)
    9. Make Du'a Before Sleeping and After Waking (Reflect on how you spend the day)
    10. Ease in, Ease out - no screen hour at least one hour before sleep and no eating so your body's not on digestion mode. When you eat heavily, 2/3 of your blood are concentrated on your stomach but sleep is for the brain's resetting. Then ease out of sleep by thanking Allah, making wudu and then pray. These things liberates you from the knots that Shaytan tried to tie before you sleep, you start the day focused and intentional. Don't grab the phone.
Sleep is a blessing. It is a sign of humility; we show that we're dependent on Allah, a way for us to show that we are a creation. So it is not a waste of time. It is not a lack of productivity but a part of it when done right.
We are created in the best of forms and states; we are already given health and wellness. Our responsibility is to MAINTAIN this blessing. You don't need to find it. For example, a person who has 10 billion dollars. Your investment advise is very different on the person who has no money because the person who has no money has to first earn money. But the person who has 10 billion just needs to maintain it. You're already billionaires. Maintain it with the principles of our Deen.
May Allah swt immensely bless you and us Sheikh and may we live the remaining days of our lives realizing our potential as believers and may Allah accept it from us.
