    Hey Glads! I had a lot of the same feelings/thoughts. I loved the paint job. One of the best out right now IMO. When I warmed up with it, for being a “stiff” racquet, it felt comfortable surprisingly (like the new Clash feel) and it felt pretty nice on groundstrokes. But when I took it into high level point play, it couldn’t hold up. It was really getting pushed around. Serving was tough, no mass behind the ball. Returning was the same issue. I tried adding a bunch of lead and it still couldn’t hold up to heavy balls. But for 4.0 ish and below, this is a nice stick. This should appeal to quite a lot of players age wise too. Young and old. If you’re looking for help in the power department with nice feel on contact, this is a good option. Wish they would have made a 97/98 version that was heavy. Might have been a great option for higher level players. BTW, after months of demoing I settled on the new E Zone Tour for the foreseeable future. You guys should give it a go, feels just like the regular 98 but more weight in the throat/handle area and a little more solid on contact. Hope all is well!

      @@gladiatorstribe yes different racquet 😬 it was unpopular, got a bad review from TW and definitely had some issues, I didn't take the time, but a little bit of lead tape here and there would probably fix it up nicely, and playing around with the string setup too! 🎾👍💯 Thanks guys 🙏

    I've always thought Areg was my spirit animal - after this review I'm not so sure.
    I agree 100% with everything Grish said after demo'ing this racquet myself. I can't handle the racquet and I don't think it suits very many playstyles.
    My only other take-away from this was that sometimes you guys struggle a little with English but hearing Grish say "... then we're Gucci ..." made me laugh.

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe 2 роки тому +1

      Well, the thing is that this racket suits a specific category of players, that Areg happens to fit in. For those of us outside of that group, this racket might seem quite unaccommodating.

    Do you think that stringing certain rackets at higher tensions or less, would change how your playtests would go? And if so, how would you decide on a fitting tension. Also, like always really good video, very entertaining and can't wait for next one.

    My first GT review. First time the guys reviewing are GOOD players, which makes it more credible.
    Ultra v4 sounds like a niche racket for younger guns with lots of power to crush the ball. I'm just turning 60, so not a "retirement racket" for me. Oh, I did subscribe to GT.

    I'm coming from a pure strike 100 3rd Gen and ik that line isn't your favorite but sometimes it gives tennis elbow and I'm wondering, can you recommend a racquet that is a little softer while giving as much if not more power and spin? Control isn't a huge issue for me as i don't hit deep or wide too often. Thanks in advance!

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe Рік тому +1

      Maybe consider some Yonex rackets. The Vcore 100 or the Ezone 100 for example. They're quite soft on the arm even though the stiffness rating isn't that low.

    • @gladiatorstribe
      @gladiatorstribe Рік тому

      I was literally going to recommend the Ezone 100 having seen your other comment. All of these could work if you're okay with this weight. The PD is a bit stiff for some, so maybe not the best option. If I were a beginner, I'd go for the Yonex 😉
