  • See hoe you can use a boring head to machine large diameter holes on the lathe. I use an angle plate to hold an acetal block for an example

Excellent set up and proof that a milling machine is unnecessary if you only have a lathe and no room for more machines. 👏👏👍😀

I do like the tool mounting block you made for the Myford. Great idea Steve. I did ask on my channel if anyone knew of a spindle thread protector for the Myford, and a very kind subscriber made me two. Pleased your back with more videos Steve. Cheers nobbysworkshop

Like the design of spindle protection very simple no thread, o ring to seal & grip, now why didn't I think of doing it like that? Informative video thanks for sharing,🇬🇧 Coventry 🇬🇧.

Great informative video, just thought I would mention you can pick the item up from RDG for less money and probably less wait

Very Cool, have you ever used it in your Tailstock for Taper Turning Steve ? i have seen it in videos, but never tried it..

Hi, Thanks. No, I've never used it for that. To be honest, I've never seen one used like that. I will look it up.
      Regards Steve.

I see that you changed your red oiler can to the Green one. Would love to know story behind it.

Hi, I got fed up with it tipping over. I'm going to make a weighted base to compensate for the spout end that I made. Regards Steve

Hi Steve, I really enjoy your engineering videos. As I am fairly inexperienced in machining, there is an explanation I have been trying to find for a while now. Perhaps it's a fairly obvious thing but, I was wondering if you have a video that would be helpful in aligning something that already has a large bore (eg a small engine block) ready for rebore?
I would have to carry this out by line boring between centres. I have absorbed lots of info on the rest of the set up and tooling but, the setting up of the workpiece itself is proving somewhat illusive.
I am very concerned about the possibility of ruining the concentricity or, moving the bore into a slightly different position within the block.
I hope the above is clear and makes sense. If you haven't made a video that would cover this and don't want to get involved, I quite understand. Thanks for your time in reading this.

Hi Paul, Thanks.I am inexperienced in this sort of work, especially without seeing the component. Maybe someone else can give you an answer on here? Regards Steve
