Thank you for your videos I always watch them they have alot of good information. I moved to Charlotte from the north and I hate to say that I that I regret it its all the opposite of what I was told about the people more nicer never mind about how people drive 🚗 is horrible. you are right about people already that lives here HATES people moving from other states there's alot of diverse and they hate each other I'm saying this because I have experienced it and when I talk to other people they say the same thing sadly for the people that hates the people moving here because it's getting crowded each day mor and more just like people moving out .I think NC is nice it has alot of outdoors nature parks and other places that are beautiful to visit.

Sir, GRITS here - everything you listed is why I LOVE NC & SC. Can you do a video about why Southern folks wouldn't like living in DMV, NJ, or NY - noise, dense population, & rudeness. I honestly didn't know that a slower pace of living was a bad thing. Thanks for the content and good looking out 🙏🏿🙌🏿

Currently, we live in Key West, Florida (the islands) and it is usually always hot and humid! Because the islands are known to be slow, we too, are living slow. We are moving to Columbia, SC. Once my husband retires from the army. I grew up in Richmond, VA (south side ) and it was SLOW as well. We are excited to move to Columbia!

@Earth Angel , not sure if you’ve made your decision but here’s my perspective about the greater Charlotte area. I am a recent transplant to Charlotte from Louisiana. I’ve been here since late 2019; just before the pandemic and I love it. I am originally from south Louisiana; “da boot” and I have not regretted my move. Yes, the food is a bit different, but still very enjoyable. The southern hospitality is very much present even though the majority of persons one may come in contact with is not originally from Charlotte. Most persons I’ve come in contact with at work and socially are actually from NY and they have embraced southern gentile ways. I have made intentional efforts to get out and participate in social events. All have helped in my appreciation of the city and my level of personal enjoyment. I thought I was leaving allergies behind. In LA. Not do much.!! I think my allergies have actually gotten worsebut not too much that a daily dose of an antihistamine’s can’t handle. Same for Louisiana though.

I think this was very informative and extremely accurate! 🎯 The #1 worst thing to me about living in the Carolinas is the humidity. The humidity, to me, is gross and terrible most of the year, but it's something we put up with, and honestly besides that, I have very few complaints!

I moved to Charlotte,NC from VA exactly one year ago and some of the taxes caught me off guard. There is even a beverage tax. I watch alot of reviews and something I dont hear mentioned is that NC requires more coverage for car insurance so this could make your car insurance increase dramatically compared to where to moved from. NC is not a accident forgiveness state but ranks high in accidents and crashes.

And I am not ashamed to admit it, these Spiders were so big two other men and women in my group also screamed, my wife was the only one who didn’t scream because she didn’t see the spiders!

And the expectation of being accommodated to their wants, once they arrive. I have lived in the Carolina's all of my adult life, and I don't want it to radically change. The cities aren't doing so well for the most part, but so far, thank God, we are. I like safe streets and kindness, myself. It is a good thing. Know what you are choosing, it is a choice.

Your videos are great, but I was at the Federal Law Enforcement Academy in Glenco Georgia for 5 months training center for US Marshals, Customs & Immigration Officers, I got use to the heat and humidity, even the alligators didn’t bother me. But Giant spiders all of which were and are poisonous plus snakes and flying cockroaches 3 inches long was just too much! Coming from California the prospect of low cost of property and low income taxes, substituting car taxes and added taxes on electric vehicles is not that appealing. Atlanta GA offers just a little more metropolitan feel. But excellent video nevertheless!

What do you feel about Summerville, SC? We are going back and forth about SC and NC. I absolutely LOVEEEEEE SC!!! I was raised in AL but relocated to Detroit when I was 16 and have been here since. I am married. 15 years this year and we have 3 children. I am ready to GOOOOO! I do not like Michigan anymore. Over the cold weather and snow‼️🙅‍♀️ I have been ready since my First born was 14. Lol However, my husband is a Michigan native and wouldn't budge. 😫🤣 but I finally got him to say he'll move! 🙌🙌🙌 Sooo excited about this. It's like a dream come true honestly.🥰 But yes, as we have agreed on SC. Summerville or Mt. Pleasant to be exact. So my question is what do you think about those cities? We are 38 years young, 3 children, 7, 12 and 18. Do you think we'll enjoy NC better or SC?

There's a great migration going on at this moment. People want a change of pace and believe the south will provide it. We were in NC this past week looking at new developments and investment opportunities. Our visit was everything we could ask for. The one gripe we had was with the aggressive driving. We could've sworn that everyone was a NASCAR driver. Our out-of-state plates did not make it easier for us.
Other than that, folks were pleasant and helpful. We stayed in a metropolitan area but it had a somewhat small-town feel. I loved it. There was always something for us to get into and the Caribbean nightlife was poppin'. The landscape in NC is vibrant green and scenic. Makes you feel at home. And for the old transplants advising folks not to move here, get used to the idea because we are coming and there is nothing you can do about it. Thanks for the video, Sir Ashley!

Number one thing is the humidity! Even if you are used to it, it can even feel difficult to breathe when you go outside in certain months. It's kind of like being in a tropical rainforest, except without the trees to give you shade. When you combine that with all of the heavy, fried foods that we eat you will feel very sluggish when you step out of the buffet and into that heat! You haven't felt the itus like this before. You want to eat lunch and take a nap for a couple of hours. Add alcohol or weed to the mix and you are out here creeping around REEEEAAAAL slow. XD

I hear this a lot about NC/SC. If you don't already have a lucrative career don't expect a huge earnings. I plan on retiring somewhere on the blue ridge/ western NC. I came from the east coast always loved the mountains and have tons of research on the area, homes and work. I work in healthcare so money has never been an issue. I lived in Florida before the Midwest and have been trying to escape since 2002. Florida is to muggy and hot and I don't see myself returning to my home state. NC is my target.

Hi Carl. I am in Ft. Lauderdale for years ( parents dragged us here as little kids). Always hated the weather and planned to move at 18. Moved to GA and ended up coming back to FL due to a death. I am 8 years away from retiring now and must leave. I need snow and autumn leafs. Lol. NC or TN are on my list to research. Are you decided on the Carolinas?

Does anyone have any suggestions where once again looking for a church as the other ones seem to have fallen through and there's no kids there really. Other suggestions aside from a church?

I don't recall seeing any snakes in Brooklyn... at least not outside of politics. I will say that I don't miss the snow and cold. I do miss walking to a corner deli for a sandwich, a real pizza or bagel, or hopping on a subway to get somewhere. I couldn't find a corn muffin or hot sausage anywhere and no one seems to know what "coffee light and sweet" means. If you like museums, shows, the arts, your options are very limited. Even if you live in a larger city like Columbia or Charleston, there isn't the variety. If you're used to culinary variety, it will never compare to even an outer borough of NYC. But if you're tired of the hustle and the bustle, enjoy a little more quiet and a lot more greenery, this is the place.

But then her husband went into the Navy and they are stationed in Beaufort, SC. Sadly I haven’t had the chance to visit yet because of my elderly mother. I would like to live in the south but they will probably be moving next year to who knows where. 😕
