Two things I forgot to mention in the video 1. It is a little tough to change out the different hair styles as you REALLY have to press down on the new head to get it into the ball joint as straight as possible. What helped me is getting it as straight as possible, putting my thumb on the top part of that head part and pushing down really hard 2. Usually you want to put the stand on the waist of the figures but in this case her hair gets in the way so it was better to attach at the leg as shown in the video. Otherwise her head has to stay tilted and it just looks like she's possessed
I would also implore you to take a closer look at the foreheads between the two faces. In the version I got, there is a noticeable difference between the sizes of the foreheads among the two faces. This is also, in my opinion, the reason why the neutral face is not usable. She looks significantly worse in my opinion when fitted with the face that was attached to her in the original packaging.
Everyone hate on this Tifa so much, saying her face is horrible and all the while I just cant see it. Sure its not the same as the perfect prototype but its not as bad as everybody make it seem. Very happy to hear a positive review for a change.
How can you NOT see it? I think you have that condition where you just can't fully process faces because this face is 100% not the one shown in prototypes and is not game accurate at all. It looks like it came from some dodgy Chinese knock off site which I would not be surprised at all if this is what this guy ended up getting. edit: From some research, they had to reissue replacement face plates due to QC issues in the HK batch which might be where this guy bought it from. So yes, the faces were indeed jacked up. But honestly, it still looks bad.

The thing I said is that I dont think it is as horrible as everyone make it sound, THATS what I cant see. And I still stand by that. I own this PAK now and I say it again, I dont think its as nightmare bad as Ive heard from others. Its an okay figure to me (and Im still not talking about accuracy). However I did get the figure with the better face plate directly from Japan so I wont say anything about the first release. But on a side note, have you seen a PAK figure that actually look truly accurate to any game character this far? I havnt. Keeping to FFVIIR I guess Barret is pretty okay, but both Cloud, Tifa and Aeriths faces really doesnt look that accurate. But I collect the PAKs more for the posability while I collect statues when I want really masterfully looking characters, so I guess I dont focus to much on the PAKs being perfect, cause if I did that would only make me dissapointed every time. Anyway, wish you a great weekend!
LOL appreciate the enthusiasm and effort in the review but nothing about the face is an accurate representation of her face in game. Like it isn't a matter of opinion. It just isn't. It looks nothing like the initial prototype released. They have since released replacement parts for the face but it is still just a mild improvement. Play Arts Kai is an awesome line and it absolutely sucks as a fan to see the QC issues in some of their new products like Tifa (i.e. face) and Reno (i.e. he looks like he just came back from Hawaii without sunscreen but face details were on point). Luckily Rude turned out great and gave a bit of hope that their QC is back in order because they cannot keep showing us amazing prototype and marketing photos and have the actual figure turn out the way they do. If Hot Toys can recreate the face details of real life actors Play Arts Kai can do it for animated faces; they just have to try (and care).
Hi there thanks for the review, i think the hair looks "glitchy" because you put it on wrong. The front hair piece has to be installed top-down to the face piece before being inserted to the head together. This will eliminate the gap on the forehead.
You may be right. When changing to that different hair I was having trouble making it fit in right. I believe there still is a slight gap regardless as you can see from the basic hair style in the beginning shots. On a shelf this won't be noticeable unless you want Tifa almost facing backwards on the shelf haha.

Idk had QC issues and they issued replacement face plates for these jacked up ones. I'm not sure if he's even aware of this but they still look bad to me, definitely not worth the price. They should have just given Hot Toys the license to make the figures.
Final Fantasy VII was my favorite game of 1997. Does that age me? 😅 I’m torn about this Tifa figure, though. That ‘angry’ face makes me cringe. I think it’s that her eyes are too close together…
