If you are a CSRS employee, yes, you should retire! You have to have at least 41 years experience now, since no one hired after 1983 is eligible for CSRS.
One of my colleagues just passed away at 78 with 52 years experience. He never got to touch that fat pension he'd been working so hard to earn since the Ford Presidency. Go! There's more to life than working until you die.

Hi, I am reposting this from an older video. I have a question about the 62 retirement 10% bonus for FERS, do you have to wait until your 62nd birthday or can it be the year you turn 62? I am facing a situation where work has gotten very toxic, I am concerned about my health. I turn 61 in November but I am not sure I can make it another year like this. Next year (2025), in November, I turn 62. Will I still get the 10% if I decide to retire in March 2025, 8 months before my birthday?
