TTCGamer if the nhl salary cap rises with the revenue like the nfl or nba contracts will get bigger . Which means mediocre, good, all star players will get paid superstar-franchise player money that they didn’t really put the work in. If a player gets 9 million or more a year he better be getting at minimum 90 point seasons.

He had stretches where he played well, and he was phenomenal during the world cup, I believe next year he'll play 2nd line minutes for the entire season and he WILL score 70+ points. Mark my words, that 6.9 mil contract will look like a steal by next year, he'll be worth around 8 mil next season.

Take a look at his previous teams on the isles, the management and coaching was poor, and they lacked talent, and you said he didn't win a thing? In 2016 he went god mode and upset the no.1 seed in the Atlantic the Florida Panthers. Back then they were a great team, they still lost to the Lightning in 5 but an upset is certainly a win in my book, judging by the team he had that year.
