@@goontube74 thanks very much for watching! I’m happy to do that in a future video. As far as instrument scanning if the aircraft has a flight director, as this one did, there really isn’t any scanning needed. You just stare at the flight director and keep an eye on your airspeed.
Thank-you for putting together this video. I'm want to learn more about flying VRF and video's like this help a lot. I took a quick look at your video's and I didn't see anything where you flew a 3rd party aircraft. What do you think of the default aircraft? Have you ever flown 3rd party aircraft? I fly the DA42 by COW's and as best as I can tell for someone that isn't a pilot it seems to be pretty realistic and a big step above default aircraft. I'm curious what you think. I also second using BeyondATC and VATSIM. Realistic comms is a big part of it. Thanks again!
@@55th-Mirage I have only flown default aircraft in FS24, but I had plenty of third-party aircraft in FS20. I actually flew a DA 42 when I earned my multi engine rating in the real world. Love that plane. I’ve never used Beyond ATC and VatSIM. So you use them both at the same time?
@@trent_dyrsmid No, I use them both at different times. Started with BeyondATC and then tried live ATC with VATSIM. It's a little difficult to keep up in VATSIM without the experience you have. I use BeyondATC now to help me practice for VATSIM and when I don't want to deal with the stress of VATSIM. The DA42 is my primary aircraft. I absolutely love it. If I had the $$$ to do it for real I totally would.
@trent_dyrsmid I went back to this video to see if you had replied and I noticed that mu reply wasn't there. I'll reply again, sorry if you receive this twice :). I use them both at different times. I started with BeyondATC and then after a bit I tried VATSIM. VATSIM can be stressful for someone that is new or does it IRL like you do. I still use BeyondATC for practice. I love the DA42 as well. If I had the $$$ and time I'd do it for real 😀
Trent have you used SayIntentions or Beyond ATC with MSFS for ATC? If you have recently, what are your thoughts? I think it would be a great addition to other videos like this one.
for the ultimate training experience you should be using vatsim and connecting foreflight to the sim that way all aspects of the flight are as similar as possible to real life. Vat sim is by far the best tool for learning atc
Helpful video. Thinking about upgrading to MSFS 2024 because of the EFB. However, either these bugs, wondering if I should wait. Using it for IFR practice.
@@kiltedpiper98 for IFR practice, it does not have any advantages over the Prior version other than the EFB. And if you have an iPad with ForeFlight on it, you can easily connect that to Microsoft flight simulator.
@ what I was hoping to do was get the plates in the G1000 so I could practice the buttonology. I have not found an on add for that. I think navigraph just has an EFB overlay
Nice Video Trent. I'd love to see you hand fly the ils from the IAF in zero visibility to touchdown and talk about your instrument scanning technique.
