Installation of 2022 Acura MDX Factory trailer hitch (08L92-TYA-200) and hitch cover (08L92-TYA-200B) and allowing the hands free kick feature to still work.
FYI, for vehicles that have HFA, there is a replacement sensor unit that is shorter than the original. I don't think you should modify the original but to each their own. Side note, the Type S trims have a different replacement lower cover. Don't use the same cover stated in the description.
Assuming the MDX Advance already had the HFA. Did you do anything about the Hand Free Access unit? Does it need to be relocated? If so, is a new unit required?
Hey, thank you for the video. I have couple questions. If my car (tech package) doesnt have HFA, then i dont have to disconnect the battery or move any electronic sensor?
Toan great video and complements a PDF instruction I found online I think I will be doing mine as well, BTW for parts did you go for Trailer Hitch Kit (P/N 08L92-TYA-200) and Hitch Cover Panel Kit (P/N 08L92-TYA-200B) or are there other parts that will be needed? Did you have to disconnect battery and HFA board connector? Any chance you have a picture of the cutout of the HFA board? thanks again for the video

@@mpbarga Yes, I had to move it to the side so I would recommend buying the part from Acura instead of customizing it like in the video. After I did customize mine and installed it, I found the original plastic piece that would fit this setup with the tail gate hands free, so I just recommend you buying that.
@@AvidAria to the side of the hitch? Under the hitch as shown in the video? The part is still on nation wide backorder, so I'm going to attempt to move it and see while I wait for it to be available.
@@mpbarga yeah, install it as shown in the video. I just had to wiggle the sensors to the side to make sure they don't get crushed by the hitch otherwise they work fine.

No you do not have to disconnect the battery. You just need the two parts I mention in the description and my first video electronic installation. :)
Can you share the link to the pdf you found?

Thank you for the video. The custom notch on the electronic sensor molding is hard to decipher though.
Yes it is DIY. I’ll post a link to a picture of how I did it in the morning for you.
Same question here. Can you send/post details?
@@toannguyen-mj3vl Hi Can I ask how you did that?
I used this guide today and installed this on the MDX 2022 ADV. Thank you so much. It took us a good few hours but it was well worth the effort.
