This was a very helpful video. The pictures helped to make the steps clear. The word 'overlap' is not the right word to use though. I think you meant to put one piece of fabric on another.

I made slippers last year for Xmas gifts but not nearly as cute as these! I lined the bottoms with heavyweight polar fleece from a fleece coat I got at a thrift store. Yours are so much nicer.. I think I know what my gift projects will be for this year now. New Slippers using your pattern.

I used batting in the soles of mine to give it some cushion.

you can also put dots of puffy paint on the soles to create a non-slip sole. It washes wonderfully.
