I just moved to the Fort Ritner area. I rode my four wheeler down there the other day. I'm pretty sure I'll be spending a lot of summer nights fishing there.
I know you mentioned that the weight limit was reduced over the years.....I hope it wasn't 2 tons when that Ford Excursion was on it. I weighed mine the other day on a farmer's scale and it weighed 8,100 lbs. Great video!
Shame they closed it. I used to cross it twice a year and it was always fun, even if it did rattle the nerves of folks riding with me, lol. Is it truly a phantom bridge though as I thought the road leading up to it on either side would still be open. I only drove across the Sparks Ferry bridge once but I've been across this one many times.

Good deal!
Alright! Ft Ritner gets the HIYOBY treatment! This bridge is in my top 5 best of Indiana! Excellent!
My favorite too!
You need to go back out there and look at the bridge now
I was ther in October of 2023. I wouldn't even walk across that bridge now. The deck is shot.
Beautiful bridge. I was last across it around 2006 on a motorcycle.
It is a nice old bridge.

No, that was after the road rally event.

Both are classic old bridges.
According to Google Maps the bridge is going to be closed until 2030.
Holy Moses! I honestly don't think they'll ever repair the bridge.
Satolli, you were in my neck of the woods. 🧢🇺🇸🇺🇸
