LEGEND !!!!1
I had heard this song before. I never knew who the artist was. Great song.
❤
This was Alpert 2.0. He was the "A" in A&M Records, and his original incarnation with the Tijuana Brass was a cornerstone of the music I was raised with. Supposedly, Alpert re-learned to playl
This is better than The Sitting Bull.Tony
Definitely my top five greatest instrumentals also Rocket by Herbie Hancock, Grover Washington.
His wife Lani hall
The video is very distracting
This is definitely in my top 5 of favorite instrumentals in the same company with " Feels So Good " by Chuck Mangione
Yes Mr Alpert is still alive and well , and has never miss a day blowing his horn. Did you know that Rise was to be play at the Olympic , but the Olympic were canceled. He also did a theme for James Bond movie , check out that tune.
"Zorba The Greek" is the song you were wondering about, not Zorro. Herb is still very much around. He just turned 87 and is still recording and about to go on tour.
"The Lonely Bull" will always be much more of a companion to my music upbringing. This was a decade later.
CBS Sunday Morning did a segment with him a couple of years ago. I'm pretty sure he's still around. I'll see if I can find the link. WOW.....from 2011.... ua-cam.com/video/coNcvlgz0kI/v-deo.html An accomplished man on multiple fronts. According to this, he also co-founded A&M Records....& convinced The Carpenters to first go into the studio. Painter, sculptor, etc. Raised or donated 100 million to save a music school that was about to go under....
oooohhhhyes
the man could play the horn
If you like Rise then play 101 !
