Day 3 || Stalin's Secret Press and Gabriadze Theatre 🌟

An evening in Europe is just supposed to be meant like this 💓
Day 3 in Georgia continued to be the best experience ever with the quintessential Georgian puppet show at Gabriadze theatre in Tbilisi!
In the evening around 6pm we went to the puppet theatre - and this was too good to be true! Thank goodness Maa suggested it and Pratik found the best place for the show! We watched the staging of the heart wrenching story of Alfred and Violetta - a tale of romance and socio political upheaval in 1991 when the USSR was breaking up to complete chaos.
Rezo Gabriadze was the playwright and what a sense of humour and political analysis he had! He passed away about three years ago, but his beautiful theatre continues staging his puppet plays and attracting viewers in great numbers! The puppeteers deserve special mention, and the theatre is so well maintained and such a fancy place - I couldn't help feel bad for the theatres in our country.
After the show we walked through the cobbled streets around Gabriadze theatre, with the summer sky continued to be lit until 8:30pm in the night. We sat at a street cafe, with live piano music, chicken salad and Georgian dry white wine - thinking to ourselves, what a heavenly evening this was!
A great experience at Gabriadze...a must recommendation....for memories to stay forever!
