Social media has ruined the aspect of becoming a student of the game. Kids do not actually watch live games, instead they just head straight to UA-cam for highlights. Coming up as a kid, I used to watch and record every televised ESPN high school matchups, every McDonald’s All-American game, every NBA Draft and All-Star weekend events. That alone, helped with my knowledge of the game and kept me in the loop with collegiate ball as well. And the year that Q-Rich was in the ‘98 McDonald’s game, it was held in my area 757 Norfolk, Virginia and he happened to play in the game with my gym teacher’s son, Jason Capel.
Those boys are just babies. Damn I'm old. It's so crazy that I grew up watching the Fab 5 and now Howard son in the league.
