Of course, if you wear Niqab, you will stand out of the crowd too which will get attention of others just like in this video. That doesn't mean they are harassing you. If you don't want any attention try to blend in with the crowd.
Well let me tell you something my sister was travelling with me and and my another sister and brother and i saw 2 guys harassing my sister that too during evening time which never happened in delhi so yaaa I'm not saying delhi is best but ya chennai is not safe is absolutely true
Well sis, be glad you didnt face stuff like that, because my sister had faced issues where college students where harassing by taking pictures without her consent.
I am just 16... My father being in the defence... He was posted to Chennai... The thing I observed there was people there are very conservative... They don't like girls wearing jeans and tshirt or dresses... If a 2 yr old girl is wearing a dress the parents themselves make her wear leggings... I was quite taken aback abt the thought process of the people... I am not telling all people r like that in Chennai... To some extent yess they judge you when you jeans top... Skirt ka toh sawal hi paida nahin hota... I myself have an experience... I was wearing jeans and top and roaming... Not even a crop top it was oversized tshirt and jeans... Jj went with my father to buy something from the market... Some ladies... Were staring at me... More like judging me for wearing jeans and tshirt... I could understand what they were speaking abt me with each other... Which was quite shocking... The problem is Women don't support women... I mean I was just 12 yrs old that time... What dk u expect a 12 yr old to wear? Salwar kameez? Seriously... The child at thatcage would love to choose want he or she wants to wear rather than having alot of ristrictions... Its kind off odd... People should understand that there should be freedom to where whatever that particular person wants to... And stop judging for once... If women only stare and say stupid things then men will obv try to do something na... This is not only Chennai or Tamil Nadu... It for whole India... People need to be a lil more open minded when it comes to girls ka clothings...
Should get matured a little bit. Learn law of attraction between two sex. First of all if u say ,u wear jean with top or any modern clothing ,it's ur freedom. So y do men don't have freedom to watch ? Eventhough I dont support physical abuse and staring a women. But women should understand,we were brought up in a society where our ancestors have maintained certain dignity for women and respect them. But nowadays for men ,women is just a object either pay her for sex or fuck off . She has no values in the society.
There are conservative society beside accusing them of their culture start respecting them and their culture it wouldn't be any shame if you can respect and behave according to their culture AND WHY PROMOTING THESE WESTERN CULTURE in conservative society ITS INDIA DONT MAKE IT ENGLAND AGAIN
Chennai is like 5000 times safe than most north Indian cities. Its a very traditional society. It they see you wear different clothes, men women both they will kinda give you judgemental look but won't ever come and say something uncomfortable to you....been living in Delhi NCR for 11 years now and lived in Chennai before this for 5 years. I have seen woman in Chennai work till 11:30 in night and go to work at 4 am when its dark. In delhi women are hardly present in public places, its just men and men everywhere and its very uncomfortable and unsafe. So yes, Chennai is safe for women.
I also think so If dress up according to their culture hardly anyone will harass u But in delhi even if u r in burkha ...no guarantee of u not being raped Delhi mindset is on another level😢
Hello Guys, I have mixed opinion with this! I have been in many night outs at chennai, even with my female friends. But, we haven’t encountered any of the scenarios as you mentioned. I agree that people at the sub urban trains (not at chennai metro) used to stare, Even we guys had afraid of getting looted, especially during peak crowds and late nights as well. I like to say my perspective, In this video we can also assume that the people may stare by looking at the camera she was holding. Adding to that, Coming across a modern woman at chennai metro is very common. But not at the sub- urban trains. This may also attract a lot of on-lookers. Hence, I conclude that it may take some time for people to totally ignore a woman who is out at late nights. But for this sake I won’t term the chennai is not safe. It is safer than many and safest to a huge extent than many.
I was in Chennai for 6 years . Good that your friends didn't experience this but my friends and I have faced such issues in Tambaram while returning back home , especially in buses as we use the ladies coach in train most of the time.
I feel dressing like this in local train especially in Chennai where the clothing is very traditional and modest and carrying a camera recording everyone ofcourse they will look at u, I have been to Chennai alot of time and even i was roaming their at night with my girl-friends, i never felt unsafe

Talking about Chennai, yes I have experienced in Chennai and a major incident in Bangalore as well. That too, the incident happened at 7 P.M. The incident happened with me in the middle of a road and literally there were people standing nearby and could clearly see what happened. While I screamed and yelled at those fuckers, none of them even had the humanity to come and check on me. Moving from Maharashtra to South is a big change. Because of these experiences, I definitely can say that south is not safe

Requesting to read fully, everyone! Hi. I really apologise and feel bad for the situations you'd faced. I'd been in Chennai for a decade, and here's what I observed. Chennai has many daily-wages & slum workers hailing from different towns of the state. And especially during nights after 11PM, the most you could see on the roads & trains are those people and most of those people would be drunk. Thus the combination of slum workers + drunk clearly specifies it is not safe, no matter which city is that. A corporate employee being drunk vs an average slum worker being drunk, there's a lot of difference. I wouldnt say all, but most. Chennai has a lot of slum workers. Thus this specifies and justifies the situation you'd faced. However, I'm so sorry for what you'd overcame.
wtf you are holding a camera facing towards them and they are the ones who are feeling odd not you. you are just trying to accuse people. As humans, we tend to gaze which looks odd to them.
After knowing that a Brazilian girl biker tourist being gang raped by 7 men in jharkhand along with her husband bei g beaten , I want to say that india is terrible for woman , i know people will not get this they ll start saying defaming this that non sense it's true right india has a country when it comes to women safety has failed completely it sends shivers man knowing all those cases against women jyothi singh AKA nirbhaya , veterinary doctor in hyderabad , soujanya in mangalore , these r very few registered and made it news cases but apparently their r un registered rape cases in india which r not covered by media horrifying don't know when this will end
Sorry to say but few issues with this video. 1. You shld have asked your team to secretly shoot. If you are going to record in front of them, you will be getting such reactions- if you actually wanted to show the reality. 2. Also You too are at fault. Did you seek permission to shoot. Who gave you the right to invade their privacy. Not everyone is comfortable. Because of this sake, I cannot term Chennai is not safe.
When an item song (in which women objectives as tandoori chicken and so on..) releases then we groove listening that. If we dont raise our voice against that then we dont have right to question the mental for general public because a person's behaviour is the reflection of what he/she consumes. I took only one example of item songs. And many of us using Instagram these days. No one is unware how a girl objectify herself there. There are various aspects which constitute the mentality of the person. It will be unfair if we only consider the result without thinking upon the reason.
Like that blue shirt guy actions i have also faced the same situation when i was only 15 years old and also he was doing that in public market at that time i really didn't know what was he doing but only thing i can feel that i was so uncomfortable....for people who is saying that it is scripted, it can be but for me it is totally not because i can understand the situation and only those girls can understand who faced the situation... aur aaj mere me itne changes aa chuke hai ki mujhe ek aacha ladka bhi ek jaanwaar ki trh lgta hai aur kbhi kbhi lgta hai ki iss aacha nark mil jaata jo behtr tha

So before doing such things she should understand the ground reality. Even wearing underwear is comfortable for me can I roam around the city? Every state have own culture. so outsiders should respect that the same way she can’t do this in Bihar or Chhattisgarh even if she have bouncers with her. She just scripted their entire video. My fellow friends having shop in urban square she asked for interview with many women’s in Hindi and everyone avoided and later she asked for English only few answered in that few she added. And one more thing she went with gang of her friends in all the places and she created the scene in the local train. Am not saying chennai is safe always but the way she portrayed is nonsense thing.

Most of them are looking at your camera. And wondering what you are doing at2 am because i guess most of the young modern woman don’t travel like that . If they see woman like you alot every day at that time just like in Europe then they will get used to it and it will be normal. But how can you judge something which is not even common in India. ? Some older men are like that in most of the countries . Even men are not safe nowadays.
Firstly all the people here need to understand that you don't have control over other but you have control on yourself. So why would you put yourself in a position where you also know that you are not safe?
You can definitely try your luck with regards to reporting this video but it breaks my heart to tell you that it isn’t illegal to record … you don’t need to ask for consent when you’re in public recording stuff which is in plain sight .
Okay... what is this program trying to prove? Tht “men stare”? Well, v know tht! The point here must be “is it safe? Will a rape occur? Was there any form of sexual harassment (besides the staring)”! I am neither victim blaming, nor justifying their (certain men’s actions)... I am just saying, “staring is basically becoz of the cultural shock that they get exposed to”.... IF THEY TAKE ANOTHER STEP towards harassment, then u could call a city unsafe.
Everybody will look at you if you are shooting them with a video camera, Seems like you are purposely creating a video., this video should be sent to the chennai police., since they are more experienced in arresting youtubers who create fake news. 😂😂😂India does have many problems, such as racism, the caste system, and high rates of rape. We must realize that this is not a problem that only occurs in the southern or northern regions, but a problem for the entire country. I am grateful to be born in Indonesia, where there are 5 religions and various ethnic groups such as Chinese, Arab, Indian, European, African, and American. We all live side by side in peace. Although there are sometimes disagreements, they can usually be resolved peacefully. I hope India can overcome this moral crisis.
If you think this doesn't happen to fully clothed women that use public transport to go to work and get back from work at a reasonable hour... you're so beyond reality. I've had personal experience and my friends have had to. These are very conservative chudidar with dupatta kinda girls and all of them have been groped (not once) and I wish to god I'm making this up just to prove a point to an Internet stranger but sadly I'm not.
@@deepthi6996these videos should be about the things u are mentioning, but conveniently it's about the hours when s&x workers roam around finding customers. Of all the metro cities i would say Chennai is the most conservative and judgemental despite having people come in from various places. I wonder why? Also, i never understood sexualizing legs. Like skirts are comfortable and airy. I get boobs and upper thighs but can we leave legs alone? I recently got into fashion and for my body type A like skirts look amazing (beyond knee so I'll stop you right there) but I realise all I can wear is pants cuz showing legs are considered sexual?
The person in the blue shirt looks very similar to a Tamil movie actor. He plays very small roles in movies. For example, he shows for a few seconds in Oh My Ghost (in the period flashback playing tabla). This video could totally be staged!
Women also watching you.. they think may be you are from UA-cam channel.. when we travel with camera. People keep staring at our group.. Blue guy is creepy
First of all it was bad to see that guy behave that way. And just so you know, even in the most developed countries like the US, things like this tend to happen. People of this sort are always going to be there wherever we go and not just chennai. People are staring at you in the train because people who usually travel in those trains are mostly from a low economic background but majority will not do any harm to you. Seeing women with very modern dressing is not very common for them. I agree that a girl have the rights to dressup the way she wants and not be treated like that. But a girl should also know where to dress how. In chennai you can wear these kind of dresses comfortably in some places but not in all places. As women we must protect ourself first, even the way women sit wearing short dresses matter a lot. It is an etiquette to know how to sit when we wear short dress. Let us not just wait for the society to change. Let it change but from our part, let us wear the dress we want but make sure we follow proper dress etiquette while we sit and move around so even if we wear short dress we know how to sit. And make sure if the dress we wear is apt for the place we are going. Let us focus on what we can control till the society changes I am also a chennai girl ❤
Being a South Indian From Andhra Pradesh, i completely agree with your statement... In the South They are not used to these modern clothes... (Both boy and girl).

Same if she did this vlog in north india next day her photo will come in newspaper as missing, she very well tried to damage the city with this one incident even there is lady is staring at her only because of her dress and no one stare that lady who is sitting. Am not dragging the dress politics here but no one will go in such time with that dress and Chennaities will never do that. Go to the place in pallikaranai radial road after 10 pm and same in Nelson manikam road after 12 am and Outer Ring Road at same time and see the call girls there will wear the similar dress if you wear the same dress in day time no one will stare like that but you did it intentionally
Content banane k liye kuch bhi.....Or kuch nhi toh ye cringe line 'they were undressing me in there mind ' how cheap mentality of the creators. Also one or two incidents can't determine safety in the whole city.Women need empowerment not ur cheap videos....except for the blue guy...all other gazes were not seducive or bad...they were intrigued by her camera..😮
Imagine someone at 2 am on the train will shoot with a go pro in a stand will you not look that generally? Being a girl I'll definitely look at what he/she's shooting and why the camera is on me? Just for content she breaches the privacy of many men except that guy in blue.
The camera reason is okay, i agree.. That blue shirt guy is disgrace.😢 But brought up in South India I can say that people in the South india dislike short clothing,.. here the Woman is wearing shorts, which Chennai people are not used to.. they cover whole of their body... (Both boy and girl). She is getting such looks because of her dress. South Indians are not used to such clothing.. this is what I can say.

Be ready to attack ad get attacked . If you think with that dress you will go with nobody looking at you and undressing you like you said you are living in an illusion . The situation is same in any country . Yes so late who travels unless it’s an emergency and if it’s an emergency these clothes? You are not going to a pub in private taxi or your car …. You are in local transport

Men will "always" watch woman in train, bus, flight, note that down. May be talk also about you. But the moment we go away from that place, we won't even remember you. This is also Universal truth. So dont make it your prestige issue. You don't have anything extra special that the next girl on road won't have. It's natural for any men to stare at girls. Making gestures at you was definitely wrong but I guess he could have mistakenly thought of you as some sex worker roaming around at 2 AM, with skin revealing dress and staring at them. Even that woman was staring at you, did you do something to make people look at you? Birds flutter around each other so that their counterpart notice and then they can engage in mating. Men will always notice you and your body language if you are sending any frequency of heat buildup within you and then will resonate at same frequency and reciprocate the same. This is it. No hard feelings. Peace ✌
This can be treated only and merely as a social experiment but not a sample size to assess the safety level of women in chennai as a whole. People not only look at you when they are perverted , also when you are seen different. How do you explain the stares from the women on the same compartment you were in? Secondly, staring is bad, giving perverted sexual signaling is bad infact both are crime.. but is it the same as like gang rapes or physical confrontations as like how it's happening in Hindi belt cities against women? So, do the ground reality check in Hindi belt cities first. Rightly the intention of this video is more towards challenging the survey Data about the women safety in chennai rather checking the ground reality. We happened to see what happened to the brazilian biker in Hindi belt. So your precious ground reality check requires morely in Hindi belt cities. And this comment section is more towards sharing prejudice, disgust and hatred against the people of chennai in general instead condemning the men who did the sexual pervertion.

How cleverly you defended the men there😂

Chennai is like 5000 times safe than most north Indian cities. Its a very traditional society. It they see you wear different clothes, men women both they will kinda give you judgemental look but won't ever come and say something uncomfortable to you....been living in Delhi NCR for 11 years now and lived in Chennai before this for 5 years. I have seen woman in Chennai work till 11:30 in night and go to work at 4 am when its dark. In delhi women are hardly present in public places, its just men and men everywhere and its very uncomfortable and unsafe. So yes, Chennai is safe for women.
I also think so
If dress up according to their culture hardly anyone will harass u
But in delhi even if u r in burkha ...no guarantee of u not being raped
Delhi mindset is on another level😢
Hello Guys,
I have mixed opinion with this!
Are you girl?
Stop defending bulshit 🛑
I was in Chennai for 6 years . Good that your friends didn't experience this but my friends and I have faced such issues in Tambaram while returning back home , especially in buses as we use the ladies coach in train most of the time.
but i did have an experience as such in here i feel like my city is safer than chennai at this point.
Yeah, Apart from that one guy, all other people are staring because of the camera..
One guy is totally wrong and not acceptable..
I feel dressing like this in local train especially in Chennai where the clothing is very traditional and modest and carrying a camera recording everyone ofcourse they will look at u, I have been to Chennai alot of time and even i was roaming their at night with my girl-friends, i never felt unsafe
Really?! She literally got creeped out that disgusting excuse of a man on the train and this is what you have to say! At this point only God can judge!

I just wanna know how she was recording in train? With mobile or GoPro?

She is trying very hard for getting negative comments
wtf you are holding a camera facing towards them and they are the ones who are feeling odd not you. you are just trying to accuse people. As humans, we tend to gaze which looks odd to them.

So whoever is commenting and blaming on the girl ...do you all feel safe if you're not recording or something but are still looked at like this??

See first of all in chennai only call girl will roam on that time with such dress, and if you wear a same dress and roam in and around chennai no one care, but that is night and she claiming it’s 2am all local train services will stop at 1am. Did you noticed even a women stared her!!! Problems are everywhere and for everyone there is no gender, as a men even I faced a same situation in my teenage.

Let us focus on what we can control till the society changes
I am also a chennai girl ❤

Peace ✌
What a disgusting comment. Excusing creepy behavior
💯
u earned my respect ✅
You are just not a single girl in that train no one is bothering them why are they focusing on you .
Facebook se kaun kaun Aya hai?😂
Make a video in Bhopal and Indore too please on this topic .
Of course, we'll soon come there!
