Sorry, but have to disagree. Yagami uses Sawa’s name because Reiko and Kuwana also thought that she was innocent. They couldn’t justify her death, like deaths of the bullies. It’s the tactics. And beside, in the begging of the game, Yagami said, that his job is to speak for those who cannot speak. He doesn’t want people to forget that the good woman had died. Of course, Yagami feels guilty, even Kuwana says it. And I don’t understand why you so like the scene between Kuroiwa and Yagami. It’s pretty dumb, because Yagami tells his enemy, who is an active cop and serial killer, that he knows everything and is gonna expose them. Seriously? What would that accomplish? It’s just emotional moment for the emotional moment. In reality, Yagami and the co would have been killed pretty soon after this talk. But that may be just my problem, because I don’t quite understand his motivation in the first game. Like, it was too far-fetched. Sorry if this was too aggressive, just needed to speak my mind.

While I agree that the reason Yagami brings Sawa up so often is because Reiko and Kuwana think she’s innocent. But the problem is we already know that and rather then have Yagami develop further he just focuses on getting Sawa justice. Emi wasn’t his motivation last time, getting justice for the sake of the law and in turn the betterment of society. He always used to think of the bigger picture. In my opinion Yagami regresses by disregarding everything else to focus on getting Sawa justice. The Kuroiwa table scene is something I enjoy mainly because of how it sets the stage for what’s to come. It’s the first real time Yagami loses his cool which left quite the impact. It’s just something from a storytelling perspective I enjoy. And no worries, did not get the “aggressive” vibe, everyone’s entitled to their own opinion. I enjoy you taking the time to watch!

@@Snackugo but in the end of the first game Yagami never brings up Shintani or yakuzas that Shono killed. Just Emi and Okubo. Even the scene with Kuroiwa didn’t hit me, because Kuroiwa just doesn’t give a damn about anything. And I think that the mentioning of Sawa is not for viewers, but for characters. We know that justice for Sawa is important for Yagami, but we need to see the reactions of Kuwana and Reiko. To show that they needed to be reminded of this death. Or maybe I am just fanboying, but I think that the story is more complex than it is showing at first glance. Again, it’s only my point of view.

that’s the thing, Yagami doesn’t mention Shintani or the others Shono murders with AD-9. They were a means to an end. Keep in mind Yagami’s direct competition is the establishment aka the Health Ministry. The death’s of everyone up to that point weren’t dwelled longer then they needed to be so our attention could be focused on the final battle. The big situation in Lost Judgment is that there’s a group of people who actively go out and murder bullies. While all that’s going on Yagami is only focused on getting justice for one person. let alone that person is someone Yagami just met, essentially a stranger…. that’s where my main issue is. I just think the writers wanted to have Takuya Kimura’s model overact and have him deliver more emotional scenes. Maybe because this may be the last time we see him 👀. I just prefer Yagami when he’s detached and wants to solve the case so he can do the right thing, not because one innocent person died (even though I’d argue she’s not really that innocent 👀)

@@Snackugo but in the end Yagami not only wanted to give justice for one person (and who says that he doesn’t want to give justice for others, he knew only two victims, they were assholes, but he never said anything like “Screw them, it’s okay killing bullies”. He just saw that Kuwana and Reiko give a damn only about Sawa, so he uses it), Yagami wanted to save them from the self-destructive path. Yagami saw them as people who didn’t have moral help in their dark hour. So it was not all for just Sawa. It had a greater point, in my opinion.

to each their own, but I’ll close off that it’s okay for Yagami to feel bad that Sawa died. He was upset when Matsugane got killed and it was fine. My issue stems that every single cutscene he brings up Sawa and it comes off to me at least that Yagami has a bit of obsession with Sawa. He doesn’t need to feel bad for the bullies but he knows it’s not okay for just anyone to take the law into their own hands. That’s his main objective in regards to helping his adversaries in the end. Sawa is important but not so important to warrant the weird reaction when she’s murdered in my opinion. In my opinion I’d be way more upset if my mentor was murdered then some person I met a few days ago.
