Usually the short reads are more accurate. And the long reads less accurate. But it's the ability to combine the short and long reads in the assembly tool that makes the assembly more accurate than individual short or long bp reads

You are right. Most researchers use short as well as long read sequencing to sequence large genomes. Advances are being made to make longer read sequencing less error prone. Thanks
