I am so glad I have seen Merle 3 times live ,and Norm was there every time Roy Nichols twice ,and Clint strong, what a band ❤️I think Norm and Ronnie Reno are the only living strangers now of the 70s 👍🙏
My favorite music with norm was the "Same train different time" with Hag doing Jimmy Rodgers tunes! I was always curious as to the tuning he used on his Resonator guitar doing those tunes! His tuning sounds great, but different than most dobro pickers? Could he expand on what type Resonator guitar he used, and the tunings he used? Thanks very much Norm, and that is one of my all time favorite recordings!
Greetings, I can answer one of your questions. Norm played an electric Dobro made by Mosrite. His is actually one of a kind. Resonators made by Mosrite are called Mobros. If you have a Facebook account, message me. Look for Ernie Lewis, I play with Buck’s son, Johnny, in Bakersfield. I’ll send you a pic of his resonator. Or email me at ernielewismusic@icloud.com.
Greetings, I talked to Norm just a minute ago. He tuned his Mosrite Dobro to open E. In addition, there are two songs on the Jimmy Rogers album that have a steel guitar and a Dobro in them. Norm is on steel and James Burton plays Dobro on those two songs.
What a legend
Norm, one of the best!

Long live this legend! Love from the Netherlands❤
I think that Norm is a great steel guitar player. He knows how to play the right thing at the right time. And he's been very under-rated.
Absolutely love this! -Kenny & Darlene
