Wow! That was amazing! Every guitar thru that combo sounded fantastic, especially your $10 Junior!! 😀😀 I thought the 335 with flatwounds would kill it but it sounds amazing. No matter what you play thru out comes Thor at the other end. You have your own touch, voice and sense of melody. Loved it!
Hi, thank you 😊 I think what you say about that it sounds like me no matter what gear I'lI play through is true for most guitarists. And yes, that Junior has something special going on, and I think much of it is thanks to the pickup from Evil Sheep. I'm a bit on and off if I will keep the flatwounds on the 335. They will stay for now, but I lean most towards having my roundwounds on the next time it's up for new strings. Thanks again for your encouraging words. I really appreciate it. Cheers!
@@GUITARSGIZMOS It's your preference Thor but after watching your video's I think the round wounds sing a little nicer. That guitar just brings out You in he way that it responds to your playing.
Thor, you have been practicing as I hear a little more Jazz creeping through in your style. Very impressive to say the least and the guitars and amp sound fantastic. The Epiohone certainly has the most authoritative voice of the gang, it's a tone monster! Happy holidays Thor!
Thanks Christopher. It's encouraging if you hear some jazz creeping through in my playing 😃 I agree on the junior. It's really has a lot to offer from that one pickup. All the best for the holidays my friend 🎄😊
Yet anuzzah great video from Thor. Sounds good, looks good, interesting as always. Always exploratory, nothing is carved in stone. That's Thor for you guys! God jul!
Your videos always post just as I’m starting my day.. and what a great way to start! Love the demo , they all sound great! You may know I’m a huge fan of hollow and semi-hollow guitars , ( I love my casino) , so it pains me to say it, 😂 but I think I like the strat sound the best here..( I’m assuming you wanted some feedback here?) the 335 is my favorite guitar of yours, but she’s almost TOO warm here.. ( for me) maybe the big flatwounds you have on it..? Having said all that , your playing is a joy to hear every time! And I’m sooo looking forward to hearing this amp at a live gig sometime.. thanks Thor! Appreciate you.
Hi DW, I wonder if the 335 came out a bit unfair in this video. It has some to do with the flatwound strings it sports these days, and maybe I didn't pay enough attention to adjust for that on the tone control when I was playing. I'm actually planning for a new blues/jazz band these days, so it's not unthinkable that there might be an opportunity for some live recordings in the new year. Fingers crossed. Thanks for your support. You are the man! All the best my friend 😊
Hi Thor, great playing and great tones! My preference here is the Black Strat 😊. I am also curious (read "nerd") about which other tubes you have a) in the rectifier position (5Y3) as well as in the preamp position (12AX7 and/or 12AY7 ?). The Jensen speaker sounds really grand here (pun intended ), but you might have been thinking about something else? Godt Nytt År !
Thanks Marcello! I agree, that black Strat is becoming a favourite. Feels great to play and I really like the tones. I have a vintage Philips Miniwatt ECC83 (12AX7) preamp tube in the amp. That made a difference compared to others, and I will probably do a video just on preamp tubes for this amp. The rectifier is a tube is from RCA and the 12AY7 is a JJ. And you're right about my thoughts on the speaker. I'm just now doing a comparison to a couple of speaker alternatives. Godt Nytt år 😃
Really nice sound great feel your hands have ❤ can u tell me the size and weight of this Grand amp 20 watt combo ? Thanks great playing
