This video took me a long time to make, but I really like the end result and I'm happy to start explaining it
At the beginning you can see Smudge excited about becoming part of Thunderclan, but over time he saw how difficult the wild life was. I also have the idea that Spotpaw may know about the prophecy (which in this universe he is also a part of), which would be a big shock for him.
Later he is shown many events that marked him and that occurred at the same time: The death of Spottedleaf (whom he was very fond of and whom he saw as a mother), having killed Clawface and the "death" of Ravenpaw. He feels frustrated and unhappy, until Dustpaw appears, who, although they did not get along at first, their relationship improved a lot and they became very close friends.
The day the truth about Tigerclaw is revealed, his former mentor offers him to go with him, but Spot rejects the offer. Shortly after, Dustpelt asks him to go to the farm together since he needs to talk to Ravenpaw now that he knows he is alive and so to be able to fix some things with his brother. Spot accepts and they go to the farm, where Dustpelt and Ravenpaw finally meet again.
The decision Ravenpaw made makes him think, reframing a question he always had: Stay in the clans or return to his kittypet life.

I always love when people remember Smudge! The idea of him joining the Clans always intrigues me, and I loce the direction you took him in!

I love this AU! I feel that Smudge is often times forgotten after a couple of books, and I've seen lots of AU's of him being evil, joining Tiny, being jealous of Rusty, or just... Lonely and depressed. I love that this shakes it up where he still has his own story that blends well with canon events, without him turning evil, annoying or just being super sad. He has his own adventure at his own pace and gets to ask himself what he truly wants in life, rather than taking the word of others and letting it scare him, like believing the forest was full of cats that would eat him, or that his friend abandoned him.
That said I was wondering to myself why I had never seen this and how old it was, and I realized it was posted on my bday earlier this year and that the UA-cam algorithm failed me. Curse you, UA-cam, for hiding a wonderful video with pretty art!

@@SmudgeWC Well I'd love to see it if you make and release it! From memory (It's been many, many years since I read a book with Smudge in it, lol.) he was a really sweet character, honestly worried about his friend's choice to live with the wild cats. I remember him always being excited when Fireheart rolled around, and it's not that he wasn't supportive, it just seems like he had that "Are you SURE?" approach just because he didn't want Rusty/Fireheart to hurt. I love this timid yet careful approach as he tries to do what's right. ;3; It's a pretty big contrast to Fireheart who was always a bit gung-ho for adventure and fearless. They're both doing similar things but in their own ways. (I loved the detail with Dustpaw too, considering he and Firepaw REALLY didn't get along, lol.)

Spot and Ravenpaw never had romantic feelings (if that's what you mean). What's more, although they trained together, they did not form a friendship (they talked to each other and got along well, but not to the point of considering themselves friends)

Great work!! This PMV is very well put together, I do have a few questions related to the AU.
1. So, does Firepaw (Rusty) come with Smudge (Spotpaw) to Thunderclan? Or is Smudge replacing Rusty in this situation?
2. Are they both apart of the prophecy and if so, what roles do they play in it? Does Firepaw still become leader?
3. Is Firepaw an antagonist? I'm asking because his face seemed to be blackened around 0:33. Or is that just Smudge feeling like Firepaw wouldn't understand, or doesn't care what he's going through?
(And yes, for that one commenter, I did see the description explaining this AU, I just didn't understand it all that much)
1- Smudge and Rusty go to Thunderclan together
2-They are both part of the prophecy, and yes, Fireheart becomes the leader
3- It is the second option, because as time went by they began to distance themselves, Smudge began to feel many negative emotions towards Firepaw/heart (envy, jealousy,) and he no longer knew anything about him due to the lack of communication, you could say that Fire became a stranger in Smudge's eyes
