How To Use Wire Strippers-FULL Tutorial
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 тра 2017
- In this video, I show you how to use wire strippers. This tool is used to strip the insulation off of various wires. Many pairs of wire strippers will have other features built into them, but in this video tutorial, I solely show you how to strip the insulation off from wires, and leave the other features for a future video.
I show you how to strip wires if you know the gauge/thickness of the wire, and I show you what to do if you don't know the thickness of the wire!

Lots of people complaining about the basic nature of the video, but it was exactly what I needed, so thanks.
God bless you! Quick and straight to the point. I'm not an electrician so I had a lot of trouble understanding the 30 minute tutorial videos.
Omg thank you coming from a woman who just bought her first house and learning to change out my outlets this is exactly what I needed!
Thank you, only took me 2 hours to find this video because the others like to talk and show nothing I'm looking for
Litrelly. Was trying to find a video WITH. The explanation for the holes ... Asked by a newcomer and I didn't know either
Thank you so much for this video. I'm a first year apprentice and this is just what I needed.
Thank You! Just what I needed.
I came to find out what the other ones do lol
THank you very much! My so called friends or associates laugh 😂 at me, because it's so easy! Well, I just need to know the technique of doing it. Your 3 minute video has explained what my ppl have failed to do adequately in many hours!. Have an awesome day Sir!
Darn I wish I knew what my tool what I'm looking at right now was used for because it sure would come in handy right now as I used start scrapping saving the wire to make money
Hi, love your videos. I am assisting in a Maker Space at a School in China and was wondering if it is OK to share this video with the students here to aid there learning. There are Internet restrictions here and many students cannot access UA-cam easily. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Ty for this video I didn’t know my gauge and never thought to do it this way ty so much .
Straight to the point 👍
To the point and helpful. Thanks!
DAmn, man. What are the function s of the other holes in a tool?
How about the larger yellow wire casing ? I have a similar cable not as thick as the yellow one you have but close. And I’m not sure how to cut it without damaging the inside. Its a pretty sturdy outer layer like a legit knife could hardly cut it. I didn’t want to put too much pressure and risk damaging it
Great, thorough video. Thank you.
Hello quick question. Does the mm number include the insulation? Or is it just referring to the conductive parts of the wire?
I'll deduce just the conductive part.
Just change the title of the vid and it's good
Thanks
You should have muscles to use such stripper. I would rather go by the automatic wire stripper
thanks
Why are the numbers different on the left and right of the same hole?
millimeters on one end, "AWG" on the other (Google says "American wire gauge") -- another measurement system for the diameter of the wire presumably.
@@nez14526do they make wire strippers for like really small/thin wires? I was replacing the speaker in an old Gameboy & the wires were really small. The wire strippers I have go down to AWG 22 "just like the ones in this video" & it wasn't small enough. I actually just ended up using some really dull old metal scissors that actually worked great but I'd still like to have a good pair of wire strippers.
Is this Badger from Breaking Bad?
came here to find out what all the other stuff is for...
thank you gladly appreciate it ....
Do not not not push with thumb on live wire. You’ll learn quick
Michael Rapaport???
Just upset because it says FULL tutorial, and in the very beginning says he’s only covering a portion of the wire strippers..

Alright ernie
The fact so many of us (myself included-second time watching) have to come here to learn how to use a tool shows the lack of our education system.
not a full tutorial then.
Show us u with muscles love all vids from India would love to see American muscle top less I admire strength of American handy man bless u
Gae af.
Not a FULL tutorial.
How is this a "FULL Tutorial"? Just call it what it is: a waste of time.
He stripped his finger
Who ever does not know these absolute basic functions of stripping wire should not be touching electrical. I came to understand the bottom half of the strippers and you didn’t even go over that. You also didn’t even go over the different gauges and numbers. This video just make me stupider.
Please speak normally.
Straight to the point 👍
