Recently picked up the Beaver Craft carving ax out of Ukraine. Razor sharp out of the box. A bit more budget friendly. Now to get it out in the woods 🤠

All my hatchets are old Plumb or Vaughan. I’ve often wanted to get a higher end hatchet. I got a friend that uses the Fiskars to great effect. But the price of those have went up a lot. Thanks for the review.

I love mine. I put two *good* coats of boiled linseed oil on the handle and it got a lot more comfortable to use for me.

It was actually an off brand I picked up at BiMart. No longer being made. My replacement in my newest videos is a TruSpec in black multicam.

How do you rate the Swedish clone by Hultafors Sweden?

The axes from the Hultafors' premium line (which include the Hultan [comparable to GB Wildlife] and Agelsjon [comparable to GB Hand Hatchet]), are almost of similar quality to the Gransfors Bruks and the differences are mere nuances. It's comparing Mercedes to BMW. I have had a Hultan for years, and it is an excellent quality hatchet.
If you step away from the premium line of Hultafors, you still get a decent axe and good value for money, but it is certainly a lower quality axe than the Gransfors Bruks, which are 2 to 3 times the price of the Hultafors basic line. Then it becomes more like comparing Mercedes to Toyota.
