    Dale, I like the Hooch Hauler is my favorite as well. I've always liked cross zip jackets, but not a fan of the waist belt, epaulets and metal bits on many cross zip jackets. That color is beautiful and that detail on the back is fantastic. Well done!

    Buy them direct from scotland theyre far cheaper and bespoke as you can choose linings tartan wool , heavyweight cotton. Leather also and zips belt buckle etc. Mine was far less than schott but better heavier horse hode thats starting to nbreak in after a year.

    Stunning selection, beautifully modelled, described and critiqued. Plus the background boot display, and the sound quality. Hot damn! 👍👌😃

    Yay! Great progress on these jackets! The Double Helix looks great on you, too 😅 A refined, polished look. 🎉 Like taking a fancy car out for a cruise and noticing how quiet and comfortable it is compared to driving a truck. 😂

    Love your jackets. I have a question. Bought an Aero jacket from Japan. Fits me like a glove. Still has some fight in her, even Thou she is like 5-8 years old.
    My question is, in the shoulders, I have noticed she is like peeling. looks like crocodile leather in those parts, and i can even make them stand up. Anything you know about old horse leather jackets? is this normal? I have brush them since then, 2-3 times and put leather conditioner. Can send photos if you are interested.

    I’d be very curious about a flat head horsehide, especially the single rider HS001 if you could do a review about it, many of us will appreciate it a lot. Many thanks

    I’m in the process of a custom Ridley FQHH order. How much
    shorter would you say the sleeves have gotten due to creasing since it was new?
    Carrie from Thurston Bros says it will be up to 1/2 an inch.
    I just don’t like sleeves that are too long. Thanks.

      I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised, they don’t shrink too much, I’d say half an inch is correct!

    I changed my order from Badalassi to horsehide because the squeaking would drive me nuts! Great looking jacket though.

    • @michaelheart650
      @michaelheart650 5 місяців тому

      Badalassi would be my first choice honestly regarding the squeaking. The squeaky noises will be quieter with wear. I genuinely don't know why some people don't like the squeaky noises? It actually shows the authenticity of the leather

    Hi Dale. Followed you for a while as I know you'll probably realise as I've replied to your Boot U-Tube Videos on a couple of occasions.You mention at the start of this Video that you wore your Aero Leathers😊 Jacket Ridley In CXL whilst on Denali in Alaska. I am a UIAGM qualified Mountain Guide and I would quote absolutely categorically given the altitude of Denali, and also the latitude and Longitude, that it is impossible to wear a Leather Jacket to any discernable Altidude on Denali itself within the National Park given the extreme Altitude and Geographic Location. I have been on Denali on a couple of occasions, both Summer and Winter to both ascend and descend by ski, and the insinuation that you went anywhere near the top dressed in nothing but an Aero Leather is absolutely absurd. I have a couple of Aero Leathers and love them, so certainly not getting at Aero Leathers here.

    • @DalesLeatherworks
      @DalesLeatherworks  Рік тому

      I covered my Alaska trip mostly here, I can’t remember all the fine details but pretty sure it was Mount Denali in the summer DESTROYING and RESTORING Grant Stone Brass Boots in Maduro Shell Cordovan!!!!!

      @@DalesLeatherworks Denali, or Mt Mckinlay if given its correct name is within the Danali Nature Preserve and is the Highest by far of all the Peaks on the North American Continent sitting at over 20,000 ft and also the highest vertical on earth from base to summit of any Peak. And whilst it would be possible to treck to a starting point of just over 3000ft dependent on starting point; any height gain much beyond that would require proper 3/4 Season Winter Mountaineering Boots on your feet given the 5 Permanent Glaciers that exist on the Mountain and their still significant extent. I appreciate Brass Boots are a good general all round Heritage boot, however it has no insulation, would not even be suitable of accepting a general C1 Crampon, let alone a C2 or much preferably a C3 which would really be required for an extreme mtn like Denali. The Brass Boot is an OK overall Boot but is not a 3/4 Season Mountain Boot or even nearly compatible, and if for some wonderful or obscure reason some idiot even managed to reach an altitude of let's say about 12000 ft on Denali with a Brass Boot and a heavy modified C0 Crampon, they would still be thousands of feet above the Permanent Snow line on Denali, having had to cross at least 2 of the active Glaciers and would almost certainly by this time have irreversible 3rd Degree Frostbite on some or all of their toes which would require immediate treatment on return if any of the toes were going to be saved. No Heritage Boot including those of the big Portland 5 are remotely suitable for terrain as Extreme as that found on Denali, Summer or Winter. They are just not designed for the same Weather Extremes and the need to balance weight, whilst insulating and providing extreme longitudinal and torsional rigidity. Hope this clarifies.

    Last two are my favorite as well, the D pockets just too busy for my tastes, except for in black. If the leather is good, it shows off better in big panels without all the fussy trim.
