Totally agree. King has already written in most, if not all, genres. I’m looking forward to reading this.
It's going to be legit.
I don’t think he’s ever done a romance has he?
@@DarkHorseDanny Not straight up romance. But there’s plenty of romance elements in a lot of his work. Also, Misery went into some of the mechanics of the romance novel as the main character was a romance novelist.
I started reading Stephen King because you talked about it a lot. Used to hate reading but honestly fell in love with it. It’s one of my favorite hobbies now and so far I’ve read 8 of his books. I know it’s not a lot but I gotta say they are amazing!
Wonderful to hear!
Your excitement is contagious. I'm so looking forward to this.
I love King but I can’t remember the last time I was super excited for one of his books. I am getting tired of all the true crime stuff. I love fantasy so I am absolutely STOKED for this.
It certainly feels past due.
I'm very excited too. BTW, Black House is mostly fantasy and is from 2001 though you could asterisk this as it's a co-write with Peter Straub. Besides the possible Crimson King connection and speaking of The Eyes of the Dragon - the cover with the lantern and the stairwell makes it look like a Dragon's Eye. hmmm. Stephen King can write anything he wants.
We share the same favorite author and genre and I’m as excited as you are! I hate that some people don’t want him to write certain genres. He is plain and simple a master storyteller so I’ll read anything he writes!
I will probably be one of the ones at the bookstore day one getting my copy. Can't wait for this one!
No way!!! You really think so?!?!
Huh. I guess I know what I’m reading after I finish Dark Tower. This sounds awesome!
We will turn you into a Constant Reader yet.
Philip, why don't you read King's works chronologically, after finishing DT?
@@NamasteBbooktube I’ll never get through them all - I don’t even know how he’s written so many! 😁
@@PhilipChaseTheBestofFantasy Which Book are you on? Just curious, because I’m lost within ‘Wolves of the Calla’ right now. What an incredible story!
@@Odd_Combo I recently finished Wizard and Glass, so I’m not too far behind you. I look forward to getting there!
Thanks Mike for an excellent realistic heads up on a much anticipated story from Sai King. Can't wait!
Had the same immediate thought about the spiral of light. So hard not to succumb to the hype for this one. Release day read for sure! 😍
Yeah I can’t wait! Most anticipated book of the year for me! And, it’s 19.
I’m so excited! I loved the Dark Tower series. I haven’t read Talisman, but Dark Tower books were such an emotional rollercoaster for me, so I’m incredibly excited for King to come back to fantasy.
It’s going to be great!
This one I will actually probably pre-order and read when it comes out. I normally don't do that unless it's for a book that's part of a series I've already read earlier books in.
ONE. OF. US.
@@mikesbookreviews I’m working my way through his catalog slowly but surely. IT is probably my favorite single book of all time, and I’ve read The Stand, Dark Tower, ‘Salem’s Lot, Lisey’s Story, The Shining, Doctor Sleep, and 11/22/63.
I’m just trying to catch his books on sale as I don’t want to spend $600+ to read them all.
I’m so excited for this book. I love when you read excerpts. You’re great at reading aloud.
Readers like you are inspiring me to write my own book reviews.
Happy Weekend to you!
I thought the cover looked like a dragon eye. The cobbles are the scales, lantern is the eye.
Totally what the artist was going for. So that’s interesting…
Man I’ve never been so excited for a book release
I'll join you on day one. It'll be my first King novel. I've been putting it off for so long.
Kings quote alone - sold !
I love how you are always positive and enthousiastic. Dark Tower series is on my list to read later this year. Have to finish wheel of time first 😀
I find the best way to encourage a positive community is to spread that energy to others.
I agree that a pandemic novel isn't a vise idea ATM but a holly gibney novel I'm desperate for!
Reading Through the multiverse for the first time. Seems very interesting
Thanks for the surprise video. Pre order for both regular hardcover and large print as well. This is awesome
Yessssssss! I pre-ordered the same moment I got the notification from Barnes and Noble. I'm so excited for 9/6.
Same!!
This is the most I’ve been excited for any King book since 11/22/63.
This really caught my eye when I saw an article posted about it on a book subreddit. I'm hoping to read my first King book before that, but this might end up being my first one. I'm not sure yet. I've definitely added this one to my list, though. It seems like it could be really interesting. Much better than some depressing and not very appealing book about the virus that shall not be named; no one needs that right now for sure. I've been going back to some classic fantasy lately and it is definitely something that can help escape that nightmare we're still living in. I just finished The Neverending Story for the first time the other day. I won't admit how any decades it took me to finally read it, but it is truly amazing. Definitely something I'd recommend for those who need a break from reality for a couple of days, whether it be for the first time or a re-read.
I couldn’t wait to hear your response to this news! Haha. I’ve read seven of this books more or less in order since October (just finished The Stand), and now I can’t wait to read the Dark Tower series. So hopefully I will be ready for Fairy Tale when it comes out so I can appreciate any connections that may be there. And I have to say your enthusiasm has definitely motivated me!
Perfect planning. I just finished the last Gwendy button box book today, I can wait one day!
yo that is early we are doing our online classes and saw the notification gues gonna miss my first class
Really looking forward to this. My one fear is that it will be slightly YA…. But I guess we don’t know yet!
Did the preorder this morning…✌️
I too am excited about this. I hope for the very best.
I am very excited for any Stephen King book!!
Yesss. I wana escape to a stephen king fantasy ASAP. Am super excited as you mike 🤩🤩
In addition to rereading The Dark Tower, I'll be reading this starting later today. Even though I'm not a huge fantasy fan.
Mike,
Man my brother I’m 3/4 into this book love it so much. Happy Halloween!!
We're finding out what happened at Jericho Hill and I would not be surprised if Holly found a way to tie directly to the Dark Tower.
Ha ha, that would be insane.
Faerie Tale by Raymond E. Feist is also good as well as Magic Kingdom for Sale Sold by Terry Brooks
I'm with you Mike. I saw this yesterday on syfy, I'm so excited about it. Don't forget in May the last Gwendy book comes out read the first can't wait to go back to Gwendy's last story. I also thought eyes of the Dragon also, I'm not A big fantasy fan but I did enjoy it. I loved the dark tower also . Your right to everyone has fatigue from the virus not to named, and a good shot of escapism is just the right medicine now . Speaking of Black House I'm reading it at the present time, I haven't read The Talisman but my wife got me Black House as a Christmas present. I'm about 170 pages in. I know you're about to explode with excitement over this new Sai King news so am I. I glad I've become a recent constant reader the man is truly a spinner of great stories . Thanks for your time, and your UA-cam channel.
Thanks for the video!!
Great stuff as usual Mike! I’m excited for this one as well. I haven’t picked up a new release at the local indie bookstore on release day since Goblet of Fire, but this might need to be a day 1 purchase!
I love portal fantasy so i am happy to see anyone do that.
This was such a good book I finished it in 4 days ❤
I pre-ordered the book!… I can’t wait. I still have many King books to read but this really caught my eye… can’t wait!… Mike, I love your channel.
Pre-ordered!! Sai King has 3 coming out this year so far lol Gwendy's Final Task, this one and A Face in the Crowd 2012 e-book coming to physical through Richard Chizmar cemetery dance publishing company!
Announced today Blumhouse picked up King's "Later" and it will star Lucy Liu
RN I´m reading Wind through the key hole and The Outsider. Everyday I want to read more and more King. He is sooo good. (Though I did feel Wizard and Glass was a little too long than what it needed to be)
King can do that at times.
I'm looking forward to the Gwendy book, I know a lot of people don't think much of the first two books but I enjoyed them. Really looking to September of course, though Gwendy will definitely relieve the King itch for a while at least.
Hope it's good! I've yet to try the Gwendy books.
I sure can recognize that sparkle in the eye when you mentioned the Tower 😊 btw you really should read Black house,it has King all over the place,it's so different from the Talisman, more mature read for sure and im so glad that finally someone admit it,Talisman among few others should be intro if you are starter with sai King, especially if you are boy/girl in youre teen's
Keep up the good work my man ! Long days and pleasent nights 😊
Many have told me since I was lukewarm on Talisman that I may like Black House more.
I'm super excited for Fairy Tale.
I will read and most likely love ❤️ anything Stephen writes. I loved Eye of the Dragon 🐉 so really looking forward to this book.
I can’t wait
Immediately when I read the synopsis I thought dark tower. For some reason it just gave me those vibes and I would love to have some dark tower connections in this one
Honestly, I'd be quite shocked if it doesn't.
When I first read the announcement yesterday, Mike was the first person I thought of!
I still haven’t read all his books and can’t wait to get my hands on this one! The man is a true genius.
This one sounds awesome. I’m very behind on King (and Crichton, etc) but one off books are easier to squeeze in and mood reading rules my TBR. I did really enjoy EOTD.
Let's get it.
It's great how exited you are about this book, right there with you.
Hi Mike. Just started Dune:Messiah. Already it’s off to an interesting start. Also read Heart-Shaped Box. That was damn good. Later I begin: The First Law.
Maybe you can get Mr. King on a zoom call to promote this book, over 70k subscribers!
I'm definitely picking it up
I support this decision.
I'll pick this one up of course because I'm a King purest but personally, I'd love to see him write a werewolf tale which, aside from Cycle Of The Werewolf, is a topic he's never touched on since.
A werewolf tale would be epic.
Well, The Talisman is sort of a werewolf tale. It's the only story of King's that I can think of other than Cycle Of The Werewolf that features werewolves. "Have to protect the herd Jacky! Wolf!"
Already pre-ordered my edition.😁
Very excited. Gonna pick up that copy of Eyes of the Dragon in the meantime that's been languishing on my shelf.
Excited!!!! My love for Star Wars has been rekindled, thanks to the Star Wars Legend aka Canonical books.
I'm definitely excited for this book especially if it's connected to the dark tower series or the talisman I really enjoyed that book and black house
Such good books. Talisman blew me away! I've read it several times.
Multiverse connections are always fun.
Also pumped for this. I love King, but his mystery/thrillers don't hit as well with me as his fantasy/horror writing. Sounds like a book with a lot of good things going for it, hope that it lives up to expectations
I'm feeling pretty optimistic about it.
Yep, quietly excited for this 😊
I think the little bald doctors from King's Insominia will be making a comeback
Hmmmmm....
I'm so looking forward to this. I just posted on another page that my favorite King book is "Eyes of the Dragon" and I wished he had written more fantasy. I would love an all-in fantasy by King. I saw this post pop up in my feed just 5 minutes after posting I wished he wrote more fantasy, so I'm taking that as a sign I have to read it when it comes out.
I'm JONESIN for this book. I don't think you're being overly optimistic. I'm confident that this book will be a win 🏆 🙌
I just wish the page count would be over 1000, because I'm hoping he has one more of THOSE left in him
I'm wildly optimistic about this.
I donno. After watching this video I'm somewhat interested in it.
Apart from coming-of-age stories, King also writes great stories about writers/creative persons facing personal, creative, and supernatural crisis. Wouldn't be a bad thing if he wrote another Bag of Bones-esque haunted house novel.
However I do agree that he has enough talent to write in any genre.
Insta buy, will be my first book ever preordered, only read night shift, salems lot but intend to read Carrie, the shining next after I finish red country, my most anticipated book of the year !
I definitely got Crimson King vibes as well
I can't wait for this, and 600 pages....AWESOME
Yes. Give me a King fantasy door stopper every time.
Sounds great, I'm in
WAIT WHAT a boy is walking down the stairs in the cover?? i tought it was a freekin eye i am so excited for this book
Have you ever read rivers of London books? As a Dresden fan I imagine there right up you alley!
I have yet to read King, might make this my first 🤔
My speculation is that It might have something to do with Eyes Of The Dragon? The Dark Tower? Or both?
Super excited for this. After Dark Tower, I just couldn't get enough.
Im so glad im 19 years old when this comes out😄
Dark Tower connection, confirmed.
Hell yes !
King writing a fucking Isekai is the last thing I expected.
When you said Charlie …. I thought …. Charlie the Choo Choo by Beryl Evans. AKA SK. It’s set in the Dark Tower world …
I didn't expect this. I'll take it, though.
Heeey Mike a currently viewer here 😁... you know if it comes with ilustrations?? Hehe
Don't forget about Upgrade by Blake Crouch!
It's in July. Already have it preordered.
You just made my day!!!!
Tommyknockers 2...Gard crash land on the tommy knockers homeworld.somehow he got a bottle of booze to greet them with a umbrella behind his back.
Excited
I wonder why they wrote "A Novel" on the book cover. Does that maybe indicate he has plans for his fantastical world beyond this one story, or do the publishers think we're all dum-dums?
Bonus vid, whoop whoop!!
Doesn’t 11.22.63 qualify as fantasy? Either way that and The Talisman are my favourite King books so I am beyond excited for Fairy Tale.
Yes I'm so so excited!!!
Sci fi? What about Dreamcatcher? I know it's not in space...but. And yes, will be reading on first day. Thanks.
The Fair One has to be Randall Flagg, right??
Could be the crimson king (the eye on the cover)but I feel the fair one will be the villian.
Since I expressed my thoughts on the community tab announcement. I starting to think this will be the first day of release book read in a long time. Thinking Hearts in Atlantis may have been the last one. This one is going to be big, so will hold off on Insomnia or Talisman. Instead sit down with Billy Summers, Rose Madder, From a Buick 8, Roadwork, or one of the others never read or finished when I am in the King mood until then.
I probably wouldn't have started a reread of the Bill Hodges books if I had known there was a plan for a Holly book around now. I decided to do that since I subscribed to Peacock to watch WWE Royal Rumble and will be able to stream all seasons of the show based on those books. So will just stay subscribed through Wrestlemania and watch the Mr. Mercedes show.
The day is here. I'm ten percent in, I read for a bit right at midnight, then went to bed. Woke up early to keep reading.
I have a feeling this book is going to tie into the Dark Tower for some reason.
