- On September 21, 2019, Dave Taylor spoke to visitors at the Dr. Samuel A. Mudd House Museum in Waldorf, Maryland about the trial of the Lincoln assassination conspirators with specific emphasis on the case against Dr. Samuel Mudd.
(My apologies for the poor audio quality. The camera was placed near the air conditioning unit which caused a lot of background noise. I'm only putting this up because it was specifically requested by a friend.)
David, you’re the man! What grumpy comments. No matter your conclusion - we’re all entitled to our opinions, and you’ve studied this topic - your presentation and attention to detail are fascinating and should be applauded. I just found you and will continue to follow/watch all of your videos. Keep up the good work!
Oh, and P.S. I love reading court testimony. It’s all so interesting, isn’t it? Thanks for posting your lectures.
Thank you for this presentation. Some of my ancestors were cousins of Dr. Mudd. They were in the Bluegrass area of Kentucky during the Civil war. They also were related, through marriage, to Abraham Lincoln.
I am the great great niece of Dr Mudd. My great grandmother was Susan Teresa Mudd. Hey there cuz.
Thanks! This helped me with my history assignment a lot!
Splendid talk!!!
Another compelling presentation.
If you have time we’d love to see some new content.
so great, thank you sir
Mudd's sister was my Second Great Grandmother Sarah "Fannie" Mudd Gardiner and her daughter in law my First Great Gradmother Marie Espey Gardiner said her in-laws were all in own it and lied for Mudd. She said she had proof but I never saw it and I am pretty sure my Gardiner family side has it under lock and key. My great grandma Espey was from DC and didn't appreciate her inlaws being so cavalier about what they knew and did, to Lincoln Fannie most likely lied on the stand for her brother and the Mudd family is determined to make Dr. Mudd a saint when he was not!
Interesting.Mudd was guilty as hell but very interesting Sir! Question....was this the same Thomas Ewing that was related to Sherman?
Yes. Sherman married his sister.
Well, you well on your way. Interesting? For "whom the bells tolls".
I’d love to hear all of this to the end, but the acoustics make it just too difficult to stick with it...
I'd have to very respectfully disagree. It was worth it. Taylor has a GIFT!
@@LittleLouieLagazza Respectfully, my comment was not referring to the excellence of the content’s presentation, but to the distracting sound quality as I heard it. As stated, I would love to have heard it through, as I have always found this subject extremely interesting.
@@eperon Roger-dodger, I apologize. Thanks for replying!

This is excellent. Dr. Mudd got lucky during the trial and verdict. Seemed like he could have gotten the gallows easily.
