Crusoe Dachshund's 3 Week Update - Recovering from IVDD Back Surgery

- Following the #CrusoeStrong mentality, this video shows you Crusoe's 3 week update after his spinal surgery for #IVDD (disc pushing on spinal cord which caused some paralysis).
Crusoe is following a #Rehabilitation routine that includes:
- Gentle home exercises like sit-to-stand, side-to-side balance movements, weight transfers, and range of motion stretches
- Laser and electro acupuncture to stimulate nerves and help healing
- Water treadmill to stimulate nerves, build strength
- Cavaletti poles to improve gate
- Very short walks, with crate rest/very limited activity

Having been through IVDD surgery 3 times with my doxies, he is REALLY doing well for 3 weeks post surgery. Keep up the excellent therapy techniques. Daphne knows something is different with him and seems to be adapting well. He seems to be walking pretty well on leash. Good job Cru!!!
It does my heart good to see Crusoe walking without the help of the sling and picking up sticks. Good job Crusoe! Hats off to both of you for being so diligent and your perseverance in giving Crusoe his daily therapy.
He's looking fabulous. Amazing how quickly they seem to respond. Tail wagging is always heartwarming. Daphne on balance board was funny.

When I saw Daphne doing that I when like:

Glad he is doing well is so good how he has improved from not being able to walk on the leg and now he's not using the sling to help walk. Me and the viewers were praying the whole time while he had to go through this!

Continued prayers for complete healing. Was so cute that Daphne was supportive of his therapy and knew they couldn’t rough house but was there for Crusoe. Both are so cute and you can feel the love they have for each other and there humans. If only people could be like our doggies the world would be in such a better place.

I'm sure that it might seem like it's been ages since starting down this road, but in reality he's come a very long way in just 3 weeks!❤️He obviously has a very devoted "team" who give him lots of love and therapy- that's what makes the difference!

Apart from Wishing speedy recovery for Crusoe, I also admire the love, care & patience of his Mom & Dad. Crusoe is lucky to get them.I am 86+, had pets, I know how a parent feels, when your child is not well. My love , blessings & prayers, for all three of😍😘❤🙏 them.

I have loved watching Crusoe. After I lost my sweet little dachshund, (Liebchen aka Leapy) after a bout of breast cancer, then two years later, a stroke, then in the end heart failure, Crusoe brought me a measure of comfort. He looks so much like my precious girl. Saddened to see all the challenges he’s had too. It reminds me so much of Leapy. It about killed me when I lost her. Thank you for taking such good care of Crusoe and I hope he can recover well. I’d love to hear an update. Dachshunds are such amazing little creatures. They have indomitable spirits and such a strong will in such tiny bodies. Sending love and well wishes!
