As a high schooler I was a lover of Carnatic Music so I learnt FLUTE up to few keerthanai. Hence may I be permitted here to comment differently a few lines.
I was seeing this performance like a pretty large 6 foot kite gone deep in the sky seen like a postal stamp with a large tail floating in sync to the curves of its own music like pointing two fingers TO THE EYEYS OF my soul which became A BLOODY SLAVE dropping its anger ego etc etc, Goddess SARASWATHY lives on her tong.
As a father of similar 3 daughters (who learnt all kinds of Eastern dances eg Baratha Nartiyam Kuchupudi Hathak Bangara etc etc non they do after marriage since their boys are westernized locals) I am scared WHO is going to be paired for her for the rest of her live to allow her sing and have the same joy of music. My advise to her father is find one almost skilled in music to perform with her & NEVER end up selecting IT engineering US/UK guy. He should be a performer in any of these Eastern instrument or a vocalist. Then a happy live is guaranteed. She had a look of young Actress /Dancer Shobana. GOD BLESS HER! We as parent give them this education asset but the live partner is by the almighty only.

So shortfall IS NOT IN DONGS OR SINGERS BUT IN LISTENERS AND PATRONS. 50 YRS BACK TO GET MEMBERSHIP OR TICKETS FOR A CONCERT IN CHENNAI WAS DIFFICULT.Today population has doubled or tabled but filling an auditorium is a herculean task. People will spend 500 for a film ticket but carnatic music concert they prefer to get a FREE PASS Based on many reasons!

(First of all how many hindus have Bagavad Gita or read it and follow in India? I know even old people here are interested in T.V .serials and rarely they are interested in spiritual talks.) Only after reading Bagavad Gita the Foreigners value/follow our culture as they analyse and differentiate the reality with proof. Also I never forced any one to listen/value classical songs.
