18:55 You got that wrong, Jingles. The GK blocked the B cap in time, with the team ahead on points, so she only had to survive 90 seconds or so and she would've won on time. By straying within hydro/detection radius, the Halland almost threw the game, giving them the chance to win on points. Fortunately the GK showed full broadside to a bunch of torps and sank to a Dev Strike, but we didn't know that would happen: had she turned right immediately after entering the cap, the GK would've won the game.
Yes, I was aware of his actions, too. And with the hydro on I was thinking "well, halland dead and GK must survive and maybe Salem will throw the game afterwards, too?", but that devstrike got me completely unprepared - especially that I have eaten full broadside salvo from halland in GK once in ranked and still remained with around like 1/4 of total hp (20-25k). Maybe this GK thought the same
Jingles reason why the Shimakaze launch his torpedoes at the Yamato was because he already launched them trying to hit that Minotaur in the smoke screen. Sadly he over extended, got caught by the enemy shima and died in the gun fight

A great man once said, "Look at how stupid the average person is, and then realize half of them are even dumber than that." The players in this video - with a couple exceptions - did a marvelous job of illustrating that statement.
If that Salem had been even remotely competent the enemy Minotaur would have lasted all of 2 minutes. Mino just went full speed right up to the middle with one flank wide open. Smoke or no smoke, in a cruiser with paper armor that's normally suicide.
Y'know, this replay gives me an idea. It'd be hilarious if, on April Fool's Day, War Gaming gave everyone a daily mission... to _lose_ five games. Just because it'd be hilarious to watch two teams furiously trying to let each other win.
The new Shimakaze can actually do something over 45 knots, with the right skills. Very nice indeed :P And the Halland actually has basically the same Torp reload as my Shima.
Much like the in game Hizenberg uncertainly principle, there is a Salem Uncertainty principle. "Just because they have the ship, doesnt mean they know how to play."
"And then, the Wooster just stops shooting? WHY?" Because the player on the other end probably panicked and was busy swinging his camera all over looking at the source of that second volley of incoming fire.
Sometimes it feels like I'm trapped in limbo playing random battles. Ships aimlessly moving to the wrong places and acting like they are touring the map.
As a Shima main I do the same thing. Don't let the enemy team know where your first Salvo of torps is coming from. Make sure Swedish design aren't going to get yo with their first volley of laser torps.
Well, Salem, (sigh), were did that player get the coal? I know it is possible, while it is possible that player does not know the range of the ship's radar. No wait, probably doesn't know what a radar is! Look at that button, what does it do? Wow, cool electronic sound! Yeah!!!
That Shima captain that died to the Thunderer was propably still shouting "Drive me closer, I want to hit them with my sword!" when the waves swallowed him. Oh those silly japanese officers. Wait...
What I also find amusing is the ARP Yamato bitching in chat. The Salem clearly had no idea what they were doing. Unfortunate that you have to turn on the radar circle on the minimap which a lot of people probably don't even understand. Not that it would've meant much with what that guy was doing, seemingly had no idea what the radar would do. Simply blowing it just cuz it was off cooldown.
If we were being very, very generous, it may be that Salem player has been playing Russian radar ships and has completely forgotten to pay attention to his radar range. As for the enemy Worcester, that looks like a "I give up, just kill me" move, which is probably as frustrating as border-humping potatoes. Well played UwUthanizeMe, a really good example of just good decision making throughout, also gotta shout out a fellow Mino player on his team, damn fine game, pretty much won the game between the two of them.
The state of DD gameplay at the moment is "interesting". I had several games in my Minnesota where i was constantly sunk or at least hunted by enemy DDs, because the DDs in my team were simply extremly bad. They did either not spot and sailing around somewhere where they weren't of much use or they were simply failing in DD vs DD combat against the enemy DDs. At one point i had a friendly Halland in front of me, which motivated me to push on my flank as good as i could with a 23 knot ship. Then the Halland spotted an enemy Shimakaze which tried to close on on me and got in a gun fight with her. I shot one salvo in support of the Halland at the Shima but failed to hit because the distance between me and Halland (and in this case Shima) had grown significantly due to my slow speed. Halland (which was also hit one single time by an enemy Roon from afar without taking much damage from it) subsequently lost the gun fight with the Shimakaze. Not because of a lucky Torpedo hit by the Shima but simply because he was outtraded by the Shimakaze,,,,,, in a Halland. After that i was prey for the Shima which i couldn't see once again.
That Salem driver makes a very good case for why high tier ships should not be for sale. He's not necessarily dumb (although he probably is) he just does not understand how radar works. And if you don't understand how radar works, you should not be in a radar cruiser. Or in high tier games.
It's got nothing to do with high tier ships being on sale.... That player has 16k Random games, 42% avg WR, plus 6k in Co-op, and he's got about 20 tier 10 tech tree ships: Shima, GK, Audacious...
