I just replaced mine after watching your video, and it worked!. I had to get it all the way from Tampa Florida to South Africa!. It is best to first put the screen in then plug the connector because the electrical connecting strip is shorter than the original. As always great videos, thanks 👍
this video was a great help to me removing the cluster in my 2003 c240 my lcd was not working well i chose to instead of replace the screen i replaced my cluster with one i got off ebay from a 2005 model year car which was cheaper than the replacement screen !!!! i love the updated cluster but be aware the miles/khm for the car show up as --------- while driving if you dont send it out to get programmed to your car but it functions 100%
Hi from the UK, great video, brilliant,,,,very detailed, but on my 2004 W203, I cannot find the grey plastic locking lever on the electrical connecter, (not much room to feel or see down there) Are all W203's fitted with these? many thanks, Dave
Sorry, I worked out the way to do it after re-watching your video again and again...,,, it all went pretty well......except....after fitting the new screen one of the locking tappets (L/H side) broke as I removed the old screen & ribbon, the new one won't now seat properly because there appears to be a tiny little white piece of white plastic left in there preventing the new ribbon from connecting properly, any ideas? thanks, Dave
checking now ...I don't have any yellow polarized sunglasses , but wearing my SPY snowboarding sunglasses which are partially polarized , I can see the display perfectly
Change all diff and transfer case fluids regularly and use synthetics. Drive it with a lighter foot so that it shifts to a higher gear sooner. Jackie Stewart as opposed to AJ Foyt. google Jackie Stewart's driving style . If you are hard on it ..it will break, it will be less reliable and it will use more fuel. A sleeping passenger shouldn't feel you turn a corner , change lanes , come to a stop .
There is also a driving style I learned many years ago used by transport truck drivers called the "smith system " . essentially it involves leaving tons of room ahead of you on the highway , and braking as little as possible . The closer you follow someone , the more likely you are to need to use the brakes if you see their brake lights come on . every time you press the brakes you use gasoline needed to get back the speed the brakes took off . Also on the highway even in stop and go traffic you will notice big trucks attemp to never come to a full stop . the difference in fuel use to start from a full stop instead of from 1 mph is pretty big . every MPG is big $$ to a big truck It doesn't mean you have to drive too slow on the highway . it just means leaving room to react and maintain your momentum .

Excellent work zooming in onto the side groove with the tool, and showing the tab movement. Thanks 🙏🏼
Glad it was helpful!

Remove the ribbon tabs first then the screen, then install the screen before closing the ribbon tabs. Awesome video.

Hey there, thanks for the video! Does it require any programming when the new lcd is installed? E.g to get the original miles?
no programming required
How much did the new one cost
Srs light?
does the screen include back lighting? My lcd works fine but I can't see the display because the bulb goes outsome times
No it doesn't .. the backlighting on this gauge cluster is an LED panel that changes to red when a warning pops up .
You can get phone/camera tripod off of Amazon for under $20 and it will make it a lot easier to make vlogs with 2 hands
Hello
I changed mine but the mileage is not showing it show - - - - - how can i solve this problem?
Does the new one works fine with polarized sunglasses? Can You check it Please Thanks
