- In this video, we follow the monorail route from Naha Airport to Shuri Station, which is currently the end of the line. A 4 station extension is being built now with an expected opening in 2019.

ohjajohh they are considering making all the trains 3 cars long instead of the current 2 cars. I hope that they do this to increase capacity.
@@Luke_Starkenburg Yeah they should do that, but I think the stations platforms are not big enough for 1 added car, so it will become a costly operation.

Nicely done. That's sure a different world than it was in the mid 60s when we were there. We lived in Shuri when we first arrived on the island, and lived on Naha Air Base the last couple of years. I believe the University of the Ryukus was on or around the Shuri Castle grounds when we were there.
I was on the island Aug 74 to Sep 75, with USMC. I agree a lot of changes.
