Awesome .... thanks for showing this. I’m curious to see the results after a month, after printing some full color posters. If this ink works, this printer is probably the one for me! The ink cost was the only thing holding me back.
Welcome, check out my IG page to see a few of them, I'll post one today that contains at least 3 posters. Honestly I'm sure an expert could tell the difference but I can't tell the difference between the ones I first printed and the ones I printed with the refill ink. Without the refill Ink this printer would be extremely expensive because of the ink cost. instagram.com/Urban_luxe_wallart on Instagram
Is your replacement ink pigment or dye-based? Dye-based inks cost much less, and they're generally more vibrant, but they will fade much more quickly, especially when exposed to bright light or sunlight. Also, did you happen to compare your printhead test with one from the Canon inks to see which one has more saturated colors? This might explain your comments from your six-month follow-up video about the colors not being as bright as you had hoped. The more expensive Canon printers are designed for fine art, and they use 3x as many ink colors, which brightens and enlarges the color gamut.
I'm certain that Canon pigment ink is much better and last longer but it cost 3 times as much as the dye Ink. No issues whatsoever with the die based ink so far though.. No fading or anything. Using CMYK is definitely not as vibrant as what's shown before printing (RGB) but it looks pretty good.. The average person would not be able to tell.
If a message appears indicating that the ink cartridge has been used, all refilled ink is rejected as waste toner. When refilling, a chip reset is required, but it seems that the reset chip is not yet available on the market.
Please help. I am having issues moving to the next step from this error message on printer "Ink may not be sufficient. Replace the ink tank to continue or to perform the next process." I can't seem to do anything without replace the whole cartridge and the refilling does get detected. How do I get passed this screen that is blocking me to get into the printer to start printing? Please help...
To turn off ink monitoring on a Canon TA-20 printer, you can: Press and hold the Stop/Cancel button for at least five seconds Release the button You should no longer receive ink level updates after you've done this. However, you should still periodically check your cartridges and refill them before they're empty. You can also disable ink level detection on a specific color by holding down the Stop/Cancel button for at least five seconds after installing a cartridge that was previously categorized as "empty". The support code "1730" will appear on the printer's screen when this happens.
Hi@@BrannuStudios thanks but where is the Stop/Cancel button? There are 4 buttons on the printer and i tried to do what you said, still can't get passed the ink error message.
How are the cartridges holding up now? have you made a lot of prints since the first initial refill, is there no way to reset the ink level indicator? lastly, how often does the printer run a cleaning cycle? thx so much for your videos on this printer, there really isn't a lot of info on it.
Hey, no problem. The refills are holding up as long as the regular cartridges. I really don't keep track as much as I should but after like 12 or so prints I do notice that ink level drop a bit. I simply check by pulling each one out and shaking it a little bit and seeing how heavy it is. The indicator does not work with the refill cartridges. You really don't get much out of them when you print colorful 24x36 prints. If you print smaller ink cost really shouldn't be a huge concern especially if you use the refill ink.
Oh and the printer runs a cleaning cycle automatically. It detects when it's needed... Mostly after printing true borderless. Other types of cleaning cycles can be chosen manually. Be warned that some cycles take up a lot of ink.

The good news for you is that it does have a automatic/manual cutter and you can use rolls within those specs so it may still be an option for you. Other than that, you'll have to use a paper cutter for more specific sizes like 19x19 (which I know is a pain).
@@BrannuStudios Thank you for your response!I knew that it could only print cut sheets between 8"-17", my question was ,if it can print larger/bigger cut sheets from the roll feeder.I also don't have any problem cutting my own paper sheets, i have a prof. paper trimmer!
How do you disable ink monitoring on the TA-20?
Unfortunately I have no idea. I always thought that was just a built-in feature that could not be turned off. I think the printer has to know when it's out of ink in order the operate properly.
@@BrannuStudios Were you able to continue printing using your method?
Yes. I've been using the starter cartridges that came with it for over a year now.. I've even had a low ink warning. I refilled it, put the cartridge back in and the warning went away.
I think I mentioned it but I simply check every so often by just taking out each cartridge and shaking it a little to feel the weight. Refill as necessary.
You probably figured it out by now but you just hold down the red triangle button for 5 seconds once you see the error message with the code. This will disable it permanently.
Hi, which Ink are you using right now? Where can I buy it?

@@BrannuStudios I see in their video that they refill thru the holes in the bottom of the cartridge, which method would you recommend?
@@rbastidas1978 with these I don't believe there is any way you can refill them from the bottom. Even if you could, there would be the danger of the ink spilling out.
@@BrannuStudios I thought the same but wanted to know your opinion since you are a more experienced user. Then I will buy the plugs and drill from ink products and follow your procedure using inkowls ink
Where do you buy the inks? I'm from chile

Hola Hiphop. Cómo te ha ido con las tintas en Chile?. No puedo encontrar color amarillo acá y estoy pensando en hacer refill. Gracias
@@marcovalenzuela5947 I only understand English sorry
@@marcovalenzuela5947 de cual buscas? Colorante o pigmento?
This kind of ink is not like it inside the original cartridges, for example, this yellow is transparent and like orange and the original ink, the yellow is not transparent and is canary yellow, remember the original ink is pigmented
I kinda figured they're not the same. Imagines still come out perfect
@@BrannuStudios Well I'll take the cheaper ink any day as long as it looks the same.
@@lorihendricks8617 Yep, looks exactly the same.
Can you print and cut?
Yes, it cuts automatically.
Or you can choose to manually cut it and it will just stop.
Need a link to buy the ink please
