    Rear end on my 02 Dakota is sitting higher, so now I’m off to make snow angels under my truck lol, keep the content coming

    The alignment will change. Higher you go the more the wheels point towards each other. Also the steering bumps stops are further away that will make the front pull down when steering wheel is cranked to one side.

    I put a lift level kit on my 02 durango and slammed 33's on it. I think it was a 3 inch front and a 2 inch rear to get the level. It was heavy metal lifts brand i believe that came with torsion keys and drop shackles. The rear shackle bolts are always seized in the spring bushing so it was a nightmare for me to get them loose but after i got it done i like the look a lot. The tires fill up the fender wells nicely but i think my rear springs are a bit tired so i may have to change them out soon. They sit almost flat currently. When i seen how hard it was to break the torsion keys loose from the bars i just cranked the bolts down on the factory keys but i really want to get the lift keys in and see just how much i can get out of the front end as for lift. I honestly love the truck so much, the designers hit it out of the park. Mine doesnt have the running boards on it so the look is a little more dramatic but i mean for stock wheels they fit the truck so well that i cant really find many wheels i like better on the truck. Still looking for wheels but man its hard to beat those stocks. My truck has the 4.7L which is a phenomenal engine, very under rated. Unfortunately my baby was in a very paved neighborhood that was salted at even the thought of snow so the rust is pretty harsh on the rockers and a few places on the fender wells. I really want to get the rust fixed so i dont have to worry about it anymore. I want to keep this truck forever. Its got pretty decentish miles at like 136k but when the engine gives up i want to cummins swap it or something crazy and continue it as a daily.

      @@gabetheformerforddriver5034 im going to keep mine as long as i can but im working towards a 2500 cummins pickup so i can haul whatever i need hauled. The 4.7 is a very reliable engine but fuel efficient they are not and a cummins is actually pretty conservative if you just leave them be. They make plenty of power and great torque, i can haul or tow anything id need too just fine and make 20+ mpg empty compared to probably 10 on a good day with my durango on 33's. Im working on mpg mods for it currently. So far i have true dual 2 1/4 pipe with a ram air intake so the engine can breathe better and it helped a touch with responsiveness but havent noticed much at the pump. I have pretty aggressive 285/75r16 venom power terra hunter X/T tires which are heavy so usual good mpg mods only make small dents for me. Any other ideas that arent as extensive as regearing the difs?

      I had to adjust the camber. I added more negative camber by adjusting the upper control arms. Was just 2 slotted bolts. I believe they were 17mm, but can't remember.

    Why not just use lift shackles?

    • @crazyloki5819
      @crazyloki5819 14 днів тому

      When you shackle lift with old springs it tends to cause the rear springs to flatten out . That causes it to ride soft in the back, then with cranking the torsion bars to get the 2 " it make it way stiffer in the front . So adding leafs to the back you retain your arch and you stiffen it also so it rides more evenly. Otherwise your truck will want to buck like a wild horse lol

    Those are good trucks that will never be made like that again (V8 w/ body on frame)…Don’t ruin it.

    Am i the only viewer who knows that additional leaves added below the axle will infact lower the vehicle and not raise it ?

      Not when they have more arch and more load capacity.

    take those goofy running boards off for free and it will look a lot taller. Had 2003's forever, never liked the running boards.
