Didn't know this existed! Hearing Hound Dog being interviewed just made my day, there's absolutely no difference between his stage banter (on live recordings) and casual talk, he's always just Hound Dog!
You are so lucky my friend-wish I'd seen him live (especially at the Lifesaver !) I had a mate that saw Bo Didley there and after the gig Bo was waiting on the street to get a taxi back to his hotel,so my friend had a great personal talk with him till a taxi finally turned up !😎
Downloads like this are why I like youtube. Great interview of two blues guitar legends. God bless the souls of both Hound Dog Taylor and Brownie McGhee.
Man! Wow! I’ve been hoping that somewhere a film of Hound Dog just talking existed. Finally!!! You made my day posting this treasure. It shows a whole other side of the man and helps flesh him out a little as a real person. He seems like a nice guy, but you can sense his toughness too.
@@reereeworld I live across the world in Melbourne Australia and Hound Dog changed my life. One of the greatest singers I ever heard. His voice sent shivers up my spine. The only other singer to do that was Elmore James so Hound Dog is in good company! I'm eternally grateful for his music.
2:29 I'm with ya. Well let's get funky Mr Brewer :) She is fantastic. Thanks for the upload Farkie. How did you manage to get this recording may I ask? Backstory is always good. It wasn't for GTK was it. That was a short music show on ABC TV here in Australia inn the 70's.
Are there any recordings of Hound Dog or Brownie playing in Australia? Did they play together at all? What a blend of styles that would be though I'm sure they'd find commonality somewhere in all those blues.
What a great find! 🤗. If I could have had that 3 minutes to talk with these two icons...I could die happy. Grateful for the interview but the chick was a dill.🤏.."and you play guitar?' ...😵💫...and "Sonny plays harmonica?" 🙄...Brownie answers "I think so" 🤣😂 😭 Farkle Me ! 👌
No matter what the fuck is going on in my life whenever I listen to Hound Dog Taylor I smile from ear to ear

So glad that Hound Dog came here to Australia. I saw him at 'The Bondi Lifesaver'. Among the best of blues men ! He 'passed away' later that year.

I hold Sonny Terry and Brownie Mcghee in the highest regard. Hound Dog goes ok too. Cool interview.
