I like this one as well Rob. Good idea to paint the suspended part red to stand out. Looking at some of other comments, I wonder how many will take up the challenge to make one. You may have started a trend. Cheers Nobby
Those things are really awesome Rob 👍👍👍 Like Kev, I will put that on my list of things to do, up to my ears in old air rifle restorations at the moment 😂😂 Cheers, Alan.
Nice curio/conversation piece, but I can't help thinking about once the fishing line gets a bit of sun on it and it starts to weaken, does it just slowly sag or does it make a thump/clatter in the middle of the night🤔🤔 Would it be better to replace the fishing line with some 0.6mm polished stainless mig wire/1.0mm tig rod?
I considered using stainless wire trace but decided clear looks better. Nylon is not like plastic and is UV stable (that's why they use it for shade cloth). It also is unlikely to stretch over time. Cheers Rob
Well, there is only one thing to do Rob. Lets call it the "Xynudu challenge". Lets see how many tensegrity models the viewers make in the next month. It can be the same as your one, or something different. Post links to your build videos or photos.
Hi Jon. He He. I wouldn't want to pressure any viewers. This will probably be my last one for now. Both versions came up good, but I like this one the most. The laws of physics are very interesting things. Cheers Rob
Great thing, well done. It's temptating to build one. Recently Banggood sold me a globe that is truly hanging in the air due magnetic force, and the globe can spin around. Adjusting the balance, setting the tension of the two balancing nylon strings it looks easy to tightend the grub screw too hard and cut the string off.
Yes, you have to be gentle applying grub screw pressure or it could cut the nylon. Just enough to hold it is all it requires. The nylon compresses and locks in place well. Cheers Rob
So many things to do in life Stefan. RC is very tempting. Not that expensive any more either, if you don't go overboard. A neighbour bought a drone for fishing (it takes out the bait and drops it) but he's afraid to use it as it cost over $2 K AU and is hard to see out over water. It's the type that floats and stays upright if it ditches in the sea. Amazing what's available. Cheers Rob
@@Xynudu My drones did cost 1500 USD and 4400 USD..... The first was for learning and the second, a DJI Mavic 3 pro, for its 3 cameras. Dropping things is not possible. Relying on the equipment, trusting it, is necessary. Sometimes the flight can be 2000, 2500 metgers away over a large lake. Monitoring the strenght of the radio link and the remaining battery are the main tasks those days. Some thrill is unavoidable....
Your friends will either be amazed that you made it, or amazed that it actually works. Definitely something different. Cheers Rob
Hello Rob,
Nicely done... enjoyable viewing, thank you.
Take care.
Paul,,
Thanks Paul. Easy wind down for Christmas project. Have a Happy New Year. Cheers Rob

Hi Nobby. People can do whatever floats their boat :) Cheers Rob
Looks very nice! The red looks good with the bare metal. The countersink for the monofilament was a nice touch :)
Thank you very much!
I like the one with the two cubes where one looks like it's hovering inside the other. This was a fun video, Rob. Thanks for sharing.
I will check that one out. Quite a few to play with. Cheers Rob
Excellent version of a tensegrity Rob
Thanks for the positives. Looks good on the mantlepiece. Intriguing model. Cheers Rob
Nicely done. Thank you for sharing. Wish you well.
Thank you! You too! Cheers Rob

Hi Alan. I guess we've all got one of those lists ;) This will be the last Tensegrity project for a while. Time to move on to new pastures. Cheers Rob

Rob, brilliant Mate. New project for me. Happy new year to you and your family 🎉
Thanks. Likewise. Cheers Rob

@@Xynudu Thanks Rob! Really a funny project that might wake my dormant, dust collecting machines up. Drone flying has been the mission...

Now you just gotta combine it with a little steam engine😏 Maybe a slow cam that loosens and tightens the wires? 🍺
Time to move on to another subject Bill. Or maybe I should do some house maintenance ? Hmmm what to do first. Cheers Rob
Think about it over a beer 🤣🍺
Hi Rob, Temu sell a wooden one for a few dollars
I'm sure they do. The Lego one would also be cheap. Cheers Rob
