I would put King Piccolo above Goku, especially since Goku probably would have died had Tien not saved him from the first blast, if not died then rendered unconscious and then killed. Plus Goku couldn't really even move since one of his legs were down and out.

I have to disagree with this. Goku was 180 at the beginning of this saga. Tien was around the same. Since Drum was beating Tien with little effort, Drum had to be at least 200 Also, you didnt take into account King Piccilo after he powered up (old age still) in his first battle with Goku. IMO, King Piccilo powered up at old age was at least 215 Also, King Piccilo after his youth was returned was 260, same as Goku. GOku had the upper hand because he is a better martial artist than Piccilo.
There is no official power levels for DB days so it's all speculation, This list honestly seems pretty accurate when you base it off saiyan saga power levels.

I don't understand how Kami is stronger than King Piccolo if they are supposed to be equals. It would make sense that they were equal at their old age, and then with his youth restored, Piccolo would be stronger. Hence why he could destroy the dragon which should have the same fighting power as Kami. Also Goku is stronger than Piccolo by the end of the saga so he should then be stronger than Kami. But when Goku goes to train, he is heavily outclassed. Kami even is able to rival Piccolo Jr. The only explanation is that the evil part of Kami was a small fraction compared to his good side. But then that makes him a pretty crummy guardian for not helping defeat King Piccolo. He intervenes at a tournament, but not when the world is effectively conquered?

Plus Kami had centuries to train while King Piccolo was trapped inside the electric rice cooker. But it doesn’t make him a bad guardian for not stepping in to fight. Sometimes you have to allow the earth to fight it’s own battles.
Not necessarily equals, but also Kamisama was used to more extreme conditions than Piccolo. And hes not a "guardian" thats a dub line he is god he even lives in the heavens and creates life (hence Shenron) It was said in the OG version he couldn't stop Piccolo without killing him it was a no win situation but hinted if it went on any further he would just do it anyway.

I don't understand how Kami is stronger than King Piccolo if they are supposed to be equals. It would make sense that they were equal at their old age, and then with his youth restored, Piccolo would be stronger. Hence why he could destroy the dragon which should have the same fighting power as Kami. Also Goku is stronger than Piccolo by the end of the saga so he should then be stronger than Kami. But when Goku goes to train, he is heavily outclassed. Kami even is able to rival Piccolo Jr. The only explanation is that the evil part of Kami was a small fraction compared to his good side. But then that makes him a pretty crummy guardian for not helping defeat King Piccolo. He intervenes at a tournament, but not when the world is effectively conquered?
+bgpeters22 Where did it say they were equally separated? Mr. Popo defeats Goku and he said he is weaker than Kami. Kami states that King Piccolo was the weaker half out of the two of them.
Plus Kami had centuries to train while King Piccolo was trapped inside the electric rice cooker.
But it doesn’t make him a bad guardian for not stepping in to fight. Sometimes you have to allow the earth to fight it’s own battles.
Not necessarily equals, but also Kamisama was used to more extreme conditions than Piccolo. And hes not a "guardian" thats a dub line he is god he even lives in the heavens and creates life (hence Shenron) It was said in the OG version he couldn't stop Piccolo without killing him it was a no win situation but hinted if it went on any further he would just do it anyway.
